Rise for Education - Pasay joins the nation's celebration of National Heroes Day, honoring those who valiantly struggled for the freedom, rights, and education that we continue to advocate to this day.

While honoring their legacy, we acknowledge that the fight for quality and accessible education persists. We recognize the sacrifices made by our heroes, who battled not just for independence but also for the right to education as a fundamental pillar of progress and empowerment.

Rise for Education - Pasay is dedicated to carrying forward the torch of our heroes' vision for a just and equitable society. We believe that democratic education serves as a vital instrument for change, and we work to guarantee that every youth has access to quality education that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and social responsibility.

On this National Heroes Day, we pay tribute to their legacy by persistently promoting an education that is NATIONAL, SCIENTIFIC, and MASS ORIENTED. Let us draw inspiration from their bravery and resolve as we strive to build a brighter future for our country, where everyone can flourish and contribute to the betterment of our society.

Iniimbitahan ng Rise for Education - Pasay ang lahat ng Pasayeño students, student organizations, teachers and education sa ating paparating na General Assembly. Sama-sama nating palakasin ang tindig para sa makabansa, siyentipiko at makamasang edukasyon.

Sa harap ng patuloy na krisis at mga atake sa sektor ng edukasyon, higit na kailangan ang ating nagkakaisang laban. Pagtibayin natin ang ating paninindigan at isulong ang tunay na pagbabago sa ating mga paaralan.

ICYMI: Nitong International Youth Day (August 12), pinangunahan ng Rise for Education Pasay ang talakayan hinggil sa neoliberal na katangian ng edukasyon. Inaral ng mga kabataang Pasayeño ang kolonyalisado, komersiyalisado at represibong kalakaran na umiiral sa ating mga pamantasan, at ano ang mga hakbang para baguhin ito.

Sumali sa mga susunod pang pag-aaral at itindig ang panawagan para sa isang malayang edukasyon — pag-aaral na makabansa, siyentipiko at makamasa.

ON THE CURRENT NEOLIBERAL EDUCATION📚

Sa paparating na August 12, Araw ng Kabataan, aralin natin ang profit-centric at market-driven education system at ang epekto nito sa ating mga paaralan, edukasyon at kinabukasan. Alamin kung ano nga ba ang puno't dulo ng overworked students, underpaid teachers, at ng education system na walang ibang ginawa kung hindi pahirapan tayo.

On students “cheering” for the typhoon-caused class suspensions.

Rise for Education - Pasay strongly condemns the views suggesting that students are “happy” about the intense typhoon currently affecting the population, as it leads to class suspensions. Students are unhappy about the typhoon. Students are rather upset that their communities, schools, and households are currently experiencing extreme flooding. Instead, they are victims of the typhoon and flooding themselves.

Due to the neoliberal nature of education, suspension serves as a break for students—a chance for them to reconnect with their families and engage in activities that the educational system has stripped away by transforming them into automatons. In addition, due to the severe typhoon, the safety of students commuting between their homes and schools is jeopardized.

The Marcos administration's unpreparedness for such a major disaster is crystal clear. In light of the growing environmental, economic, and social crisis in the Philippines, it is understandable for students to request class suspensions, particularly when announcements tend to be delayed and their homes are continuously left drowning in the false hope provided by the ineffective and barely visible flood control initiatives by the government, which prioritizes environmentally damaging projects, and when there is poor waste management by local governments. It is the government's duty and responsibility to protect the welfare of the students—where both local and national governments are FAILING and UNABLE to adequately address the needs of the students.

Rise for Education - Pasay urges the Pasayeño youth and educational personnel to join the July 28 rally for the State of the Nation Address 2025.
