The Cultural Center of the Philippines proudly congratulates mezzo-soprano Michelle Mariposa for winning First Prize at the 2026 Washington International Competition, a prestigious global competition for young classical musicians held in Washington, D.C.

Michelle is a Filipino-Chinese mezzo-soprano currently making her mark on the international stage as a Cafritz Young Artist with the Washington National Opera. She is also a 2025 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition Grand Finals Winner and a 2019 NAMCYA Senior Voice Category Winner..

A well-deserved recognition of Michelle’s artistry. Bravo!
