“Tuloy po kayo sa Rizal Library!”
In the first memo* issued by Dr. Marlu Vilches as our new Vice President for Higher Education, she wrote that, “The [Office of the University Librarian] will develop and manage a unified Rizal Library to ensure that it facilitates learning and research for students and faculty by providing information services online and onsite across its three different locations: RL-Main (Katipunan), RL-Rockwell, and RL-Ortigas.”
In the coming months and years, the “unified Rizal Library” will ensure that students and faculty of the different Higher Education schools are able to access the same print and electronic resources, and avail of the same facilities and services, regardless of affiliation and location.
From June 5 to July 29, Pepe and the librarians and staff of the Rizal Library will welcome ALL Higher Education students and faculty at RL-Main and RL-Ortigas, for as long as they have valid IDs. If and when RL-Rockwell reopens during this period after its renovation, it will also extend the same privileges to all students and faculty.
Certain limitations for each location will apply, of course, as we try out this new arrangement, so we hope you will bear with us as we slowly explore the possibilities that accompany this process of “turning a new page.”
New guidelines for the use of RL facilities will be released by August 1.
