Inimbitahan ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Albay Provincial Office ang National Meat Inspection Service - Regional Technical Operation Center 5 (NMIS - RTOC 5) bilang isa sa mga resource speaker sa Consumer Talks Year 3 noong Oktubre 5 - 6, 2026 sa LCC Event Center, Legazpi, Albay, na dinaluhan ng humigit-kumulang 150 na kalahok.

Sa naturang kaganapan, tinalakay ng tagapagsalita mula sa NMIS RTOC 5 ang mandato ng NMIS, mga regulatory program, mga programa at interbensyon ng NMIS, adbokasiya sa pampublikong kalusugan, mga pagsasanay, estratehikong pag-unlad, pagpapatupad o enforcement, at pagsubaybay o monitoring.

Layunin nito na pataasin ang kamalayan ng mga mamimili, kabilang ang mga nakatatanda at iba pang sektor, pati na rin ang pagpapalakas sa kasunod na henerasyon ng mga mamimili.

The National Meat Inspection Service - Regional Technical Operation Center 5 (NMIS - RTOC 5), together with Accredited Meat Establishments, joins in the hanging of streamers for the upcoming 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 (𝗠𝗦𝗖𝗪), with the theme “𝙊𝙣𝙚 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙊𝙣𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩: 𝙎𝙖𝙛𝙚, 𝘾𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙌𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙈𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝘼𝙡𝙡,” in celebration of the 33rd Meat Safety Consciousness Week (MSCW) and the 54th NMIS Founding Anniversary, held from October 19 to 23, 2026.

Sa meat safety, hindi lang sapat na suriin ang produkto kapag tapos na itong gawin. Mahalaga ring matukoy at makontrol ang mga posibleng panganib habang isinasagawa ang meat production process.
Dito pumapasok ang 𝗛𝗮𝘇𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 (𝗛𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗣)—isang systematic at science-based approach na tumutulong sa pagtukoy, pagsusuri, at pagkontrol ng mga potential food safety hazards sa mga kritikal na bahagi ng proseso.
Kaya sa bawat ligtas na meat product na nakararating sa ating mga hapag-kainan, mahalagang bahagi ang mga preventive measures na ginagawa bago pa man ito makarating sa consumer.

𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗔𝗛𝗜𝗡 | “Hot meat," nakumpiska sa Magarao, Camarines Sur

47.09 na kilo ng “Hot Meat” ang nakumpiska ng National Meat Inspection Service sa Magarao, Camarines Sur nitong Oktubre 1. Ang hot meat ay hindi nainspeksyon, walang kaukulang dokumento, hindi nakarehistro, o ilegal na naibyahe mula sa mga pasilidad na walang akreditasyon.

Ang operasyon ay isinagawa ng ng pinag-isang puwersa ng NMIS RTOC V Enforcement Team at LGU Magarao. Ang bayan kabilang sa walong nagpapakatay sa Naga City District Abattoir, kaya dapat kompleto ang dokumentong naipapakita. Ang mga vendors ay lumabag sa Republic Act No. 9296 o the Meat Inspection Code of the Philippines.

Ayon kay Municipal Agriculture Officer Masil Nacario, dapat nasisiguro ng mga nagtitinda na malinis ang kanilang mga produkto at maproptektrahan ang mga mamimili laban sa sakit at kontaminasyon.

𝟰𝟳.𝟬𝟵 𝗞𝗶𝗹𝗼 𝗻𝗴 "𝗛𝗼𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘁," 𝗕𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗱 𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗴𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘆𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗠𝗜𝗦 𝗥𝗧𝗢𝗖 𝗩 𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗼

Isinagawa ng pinagsamang puwersa ng NMIS RTOC V Enforcement Team at Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Magarao ang isang operasyon sa Barangay Sta. Lucia, Magarao, Camarines Sur noong Oktubre 1, 2026. Ang munisipalidad ng Magarao ay kabilang sa walong magkakalapit na bayan na nagpapakatay sa Naga City District Abattoir.

Sa naturang operasyon, kabuuang 10 pwesto ng karne ang isinailalim sa inspeksyon, kung saan nakakumpiska ng 47.09 kilo ng "Hot Meat" dahil sa paglabag sa Republic Act No. 9296 (The Meat Inspection Code of the Philippines) at sa susog nitong batas na Republic Act No. 10536. Ang hot meat ay tumutukoy sa karne o produktong karne na hindi nainspeksyon, walang kaukulang dokumento, hindi nakarehistro, o ilegal na naibyahe mula sa mga pasilidad na walang akreditasyon.

Layunin nito ang pagkakaroon ng malinis at ligtas na karne na protektahan ang publiko laban sa mga mapanganib na sakit mula sa pagkain, malubhang impeksyon, at kontaminasyon. Matapos ang inspeksyon, itinapon o idinispose ng enforcement team ang nakumpiskang hot meat sa Materials Recovery Facility ng Magarao.

📢𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬:
In anticipation of the scheduled demolition of the NMIS RTOC V Building, the personnel of RTOC V undertook the necessary preparations for the transfer of its operations to a temporary office located within the 𝗗𝗔𝗥𝗙𝗢 𝗩 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱, 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻, 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗶, 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗿, situated directly in front of the 𝗩𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲.

The temporary office space was made available through the kind and continued support of Regional Executive Director (RED) Rodel Tornilla. This arrangement will serve as the temporary workplace of RTOC V personnel until the completion of the NMIS RTOC V Meat Laboratory and Administrative Building.
