The Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur, through the Provincial Economic Enterprise Development Office (PEEDO), conducted the two-day Writeshop on GIS-Based Investment Site Profiling and Investment Opportunity Packaging on September 9โ€“10, 2026, at Annex A, Provincial Learning Center, Gov. D.O. Plaza Government Center, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

The activity brought together Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Officers (LEDIPOs)/LGU representatives, designated LEDIPOs, and technical staff to strengthen their capacity to develop comprehensive, data-driven, and investor-friendly investment profiles and project briefs.

On the first day, ๐— ๐—ฟ. ๐—๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐—ฆ. ๐—Ÿ๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ, Resource Speaker from DENR-PENRO, discussed Introduction to GIS and Generating Topography Map using Digital Elevation Model (DEM). His sessions provided participants with foundational knowledge and practical approaches to using GIS in identifying, visualizing, and analyzing geographic and spatial information relevant to investment site profiling.

On the second day, ๐— ๐—ฟ. ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—น ๐—ฅ. ๐—”๐—ป๐—ถรฑ๐—ผ๐—ป, Resource Speaker from DTI-Agusan del Sur, discussed Transforming GIS Data into Investment Pitches, focusing on how spatial and local economic information can be translated into clear, compelling, and investor-oriented presentations.

Through the writeshop, participants were equipped with practical tools and frameworks to:

๐Ÿ”น Organize and analyze relevant socio-economic and sectoral data;
๐Ÿ”น Identify priority investment sectors, opportunities, and local competitive advantages;
๐Ÿ”น Develop and enhance LGU Investment Profiles using standard frameworks and current data;
๐Ÿ”น Utilize GIS and spatial information in identifying and profiling potential investment sites;
๐Ÿ”น Package investment-ready project briefs highlighting value propositions, market potential, and key investment information; and
๐Ÿ”น Effectively present investment promotion materials to prospective investors and stakeholders.

The two-day activity also provided a venue for hands-on drafting, validation, peer review, and feedback, enabling participants to refine their investment profiles and project briefs based on local priorities and market opportunities.

Participating LGUs have compiled and organized investment-related data, drafted LGU Investment Profiles, identified priority investment opportunities, and developed at least one investment-ready project brief.

With strengthened technical capacity in GIS-based investment profiling and investment opportunity packaging, LEDIPOs and LGU technical teams are better positioned to promote their localities, respond to investor inquiries, facilitate investment generation, and position their LGUs as competitive and investment-ready destinations.

The Provincial Board of Investment (PBI) conducted its 91st Meeting on September 10, 2026, at Annex B, Provincial Learning Center, Gov. D.O. Plaza Government Center, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, attended by the PBI Members, guests, and Secretariat.

The meeting focused on key matters concerning investment promotion and development in the Province, including the presentation of the updates on the Agusan del Sur Investment Incentives Code for the information and consideration of the PBI Members. The meeting also featured updates and presentations on the 52nd Philippine Business Conference and Expo, 28th Caraga Business Conference, and 7th Provincial Business Conference, providing the Board with relevant information on upcoming business and investment-related activities and opportunities.

To conserve and stabilize the available water supply, a scheduled water supply operation will be implemented beginning August 17, 2026:

The Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur, through the Provincial Economic and Enterprise Development Office (PEEDO), officially kicked off the three-day Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Training Workshop for MSMEs today, August 12, 2026, at Annex B, Provincial Learning Center, Gov. D.O. Plaza, Government Center, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

The training aims to equip Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with essential knowledge and practical strategies to prepare for disruptions, manage risks, minimize business losses, and ensure the continuity of their operations during emergencies and unforeseen challenges.

๐Ÿ“Œ Day 1 focused on building awareness and understanding of the importance of business continuity, helping participating MSMEs recognize potential risks and the need for proactive preparedness.

Through this initiative, the Provincial Government continues to strengthen the resilience and competitiveness of Agusan del Surโ€™s MSMEsโ€”ensuring that local enterprises are prepared, adaptable, and ready to thrive in the face of challenges.

The Provincial Economic and Enterprise Development Office (PEEDO) conducted Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Exercises/Simulation for its local economic enterprises on August 5โ€“7, 2026.

The activity utilized Table-Top Exercises designed to simulate potential disruptions and emergencies, allowing participants to assess their preparedness, identify critical operational risks, and develop appropriate response and recovery strategies.

The Local Economic Enterprises conducted with simulations are:

๐Ÿ”น Agricultural Resource Center (ARC)

Through these simulations, personnel were able to examine their existing Business Continuity Plans, critical functions, communication procedures, resource requirements, and recovery measures in the event of emergencies or operational disruptions.
