The two-day activity aimed to strengthen the organizational capacity of poultry raisers by enhancing their knowledge and skills in organizational development, leadership, management, and effective association governance. Participants were oriented on the importance of teamwork, proper planning, record keeping, financial management, and sustainable organizational practices.

The workshop also served as a venue for members to discuss common concerns and opportunities in poultry production, while promoting cooperation and unity among poultry raisers in the province. Interactive discussions, lectures, and workshops were conducted to equip participants with practical strategies in managing their associations effectively.

Through this activity, the Provincial Veterinary Office reaffirmed its commitment to empowering local livestock organizations and supporting the continuous development of the poultry industry in Agusan del Sur.

The activity gathered goat raisers, association members, and stakeholders from different municipalities of Agusan del Sur to discuss various concerns, programs, and updates related to goat production and livestock development in the province. The meeting also served as a venue for strengthening coordination among members and promoting sustainable goat raising practices.

Key matters discussed during the meeting included association updates, production management, animal health concerns, marketing opportunities, and future plans and activities of the organization. Participants actively shared experiences and recommendations aimed at improving goat production and enhancing the livelihood of local raisers.

The quarterly meeting highlighted the commitment of the association to continuously support and empower goat raisers through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and strengthened partnership among livestock stakeholders in Agusan del Sur.

From April 28 to 30, 2026, the Provincial Veterinary Office conducted a mass anti-rabies vaccination campaign in the barangays of Sta. Cruz, Wasi-an and Poblacion,Rosario, Agusan del Sur.

The activity aimed to protect both animals and the community from rabies through the vaccination of dogs and other susceptible animals. Pet owners actively participated by bringing their animals for free vaccination, demonstrating strong community support for the program.

This initiative is part of the office’s continued efforts to promote responsible pet ownership, ensure public safety, and work toward the prevention and control of rabies in the province.

The activity aimed to monitor the health status of swine populations in the area and to ensure early detection and prevention of ASF, a highly contagious viral disease affecting pigs. Veterinary personnel collected blood samples from selected swine for laboratory testing and assessment.

This initiative forms part of the province’s strengthened biosecurity measures to safeguard the local swine industry and protect the livelihood of hog raisers. Officials also took the opportunity to remind farmers of the importance of proper farm hygiene, controlled animal movement, and immediate reporting of suspected cases.

The Provincial Veterinary Office remains committed to sustaining surveillance efforts and implementing proactive measures to keep Agusan del Sur ASF-free.

The Provincial Veterinary Office conducted monitoring activities under the CatDP, along with animal health services, including hemosep vaccination, at the Taogdan Imelda Farmers Association (TIFA) in Brgy. Imelda, Bunawan on April 21, 2026.

The activity aimed to assess the current status of livestock production among association members while ensuring the health and protection of animals through timely vaccination.

In addition to vaccination, technical assistance and guidance on proper animal health management, biosecurity measures, and disease prevention were shared with the farmers. The initiative supports the continuous strengthening of livestock productivity and the promotion of sustainable farming practices in the community.

The Provincial Veterinary Office successfully conducted a Basic Organizational Development Workshop for the cattle raisers of the Marfil USAD Farmers Association. The activity aimed to strengthen the organization’s structure, enhance leadership capabilities, and improve coordination among members.

During the workshop, participants were oriented on key organizational principles, including roles and responsibilities, effective communication, teamwork, and strategic planning. The session also emphasized the importance of unity and active participation in achieving the association’s goals and sustaining livestock development initiatives.

Cattle raisers actively engaged in discussions and group activities, demonstrating their commitment to improving their organization and livelihood. The workshop served as a platform to address common concerns, share experiences, and identify strategies to boost productivity in the cattle industry.

This proactive approach supports the government’s commitment to safeguarding the poultry industry and protecting public health.
