We recognize the hard work and vital contributions of rural workers, farmers, fisherfolk, and landless laborers who sustain our communities and food systems. Often invisible and undervalued, their labor deserves more than recognition—it demands action.

For rural women, the struggle is even greater. They till the land, raise families, and yet are often excluded from decision-making spaces. As we celebrate Rural Workers Month, PCW calls for greater attention to their voices, needs, and rights.

Let us continue to push for policies that ensure equal access to resources, promote inclusive and sustainable development, and uphold the dignity of those who feed the nation.

Because a just and equitable future begins by honoring those who grow it.

The Philippines has surged back into the top 20 globally, climbing five places to rank 20th out of 148 countries on the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) 2025 Global Gender Gap Report, released in June 2025. With an overall gender parity score of 78.1 percent—a 0.2-point improvement from 77.9 percent in 2024—the nation reasserts its leadership as Asia’s most gender‑equal country, and ranks third in the East Asia and the Pacific region, behind New Zealand and Australia.

💙 Happy Father’s Day!

Shared parenthood is more than sharing tasks—it's sharing dreams, values, and the everyday joys and struggles of building a loving home.

PCW STATEMENT: Commemorating the Philippines’ 127th Independence Day: Honoring the Filipino Women’s Enduring Fight for Freedom and Peace

As the nation commemorates the 127th anniversary of Philippine Independence, the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) honors the countless Filipino women whose stories of resilience, courage, and sacrifice helped shape our nation’s freedom and continue to inspire the pursuit of peace in our daily lives. The story of our independence is incomplete without recognizing the vital role of Filipino women. Their enduring legacy calls us to build a nation worthy of their struggles—one where peace is not merely the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice, dignity, and equality for all.

From the women of the revolution, to those who rose during the Japanese occupation, to all Filipino women of yesterday and today who fought—and continue to fight—for genuine freedom and lasting peace, their stories remain central to our collective journey. The struggles of Filipino women for independence and peace remind us that freedom is not a destination, but an ongoing journey.

Mabuhay ang kababaihang Pilipino, mabuhay ang malayang Pilipinas!

12/06/2025
