PRESS RELEASE
Ten PNPA Alumni Honored with the Prestigious Gawad Dakilang Lakan 2025
From the quiet discipline of cadet life to the demanding frontlines of public service, ten distinguished graduates of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) have risen to exemplify the very ideals the Academy seeks to instill in every cadet. In recognition of their exceptional leadership, unwavering integrity, and remarkable contributions to public service, these ten alumni have been named recipients of the Gawad Dakilang Lakan 2025, the highest and most prestigious honor conferred by the PNPA Alumni Association, Inc. (PNPAAAI).
Selected from more than 55 Lakan members across the country, the awardees represent the finest among PNPA graduates serving in the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP). Each one carries the mark of the “Tatak Lakan”—a brand of leadership forged through discipline, courage, and an enduring commitment to serve the Filipino people.
Formerly known as the Lakan Distinguished Award, the Gawad Dakilang Lakan honors alumni who have lived out the Academy’s timeless guiding principle: “To Learn Today, To Lead Tomorrow.” Their journeys—from the halls of the Academy to positions of responsibility in communities across the nation—reflect how the values instilled in PNPA continue to shape leaders who protect lives, strengthen institutions, and uphold the rule of law.
The 2025 Gawad Dakilang Lakan awardees are:

The distinguished awardees will be formally honored during the Grand Alumni Parade of the 46th PNPA Alumni Homecoming Celebration on March 14, 2026, at the PNPA grounds in Camp General Mariano N. Castañeda, Silang, Cavite. This year’s celebration carries the theme: “Isang Asosasyon, Bihirang Pagkakataon, Pag-asa ng Bagong Henerasyon.”
During the ceremony, the honorees will receive the Dakila Trophy, a powerful symbol of honor and service designed by National Artist for Visual Arts Toym Imao. The trophy represents the enduring legacy of PNPA graduates—leaders who stand as guardians of public safety and pillars of nation-building.
The selection of this year’s awardees was undertaken through a rigorous process led by a distinguished panel composed of members of the PNPAAAI Board of Trustees and respected representatives from civil society, including leaders from the academe, local government, religious sector, and business community. Their collective participation ensures that the award remains credible, meaningful, and deeply respected.
More than a celebration of individual accomplishment, the Gawad Dakilang Lakan is a tribute to the spirit of service that defines every PNPA graduate. These Lakans embody leadership rooted in discipline, guided by integrity, and sustained by a lifelong commitment to protect and serve.
As they continue to lead in their respective fields, their stories stand as a powerful reminder to the next generation of cadets: that true leadership is not measured by rank or position, but by courage, character, and the unwavering resolve to serve the Filipino people with honor.
