This week, Rev. William Dy has has reminded us that our personal relationship with God is also a personal commitment to His Word.

In the same way as there are gifts given in a relationship, Scripture is a gift God Himself has given us in our relationship with Him. It is God-breathed (2 Tim 3:16) like we are (Genesis 2:7). This can be seen as a reminder of what our salvation entails.

In the same way as there is love between partners, there is the also the love God has for you. 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗺, and take comfort to know that in His word, He has said many times that He loves you.

𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 here on earth. It way God speaks to us, it is how He comforts us from our mistakes, and directs us for our sanctification now. In heaven, we won't need Scripture because God Himself will be there to talk to us, so let us treasure it now.

This week, Reverend Michael Lim has reminded us through Romans 12:9-13 what it costs and means to love, and what we ought to do as a living sacrifice. We should love with genuine love.

Genuine is translated from ἀνυπόκριτος(anupokritos), from the an- prefix, meaning 'not' and upokritos, which sounds like the all-too-familiar English word 'hypocrite.' In other words, If we are to love genuinely, if we truly want to desire the good for another person, we should be consistent in our good behavior. We should follow through what we believe in and do not make exceptions when bad emotions like anger try and frustrate us.

𝗛𝗼𝘄𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿, 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀, 𝘄𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹.

Sincere love like this is costly, of time, of effort, and of money. But let us not think of the cost as the most important part of loving. It is thinking about the other person. It is difficult to always think about others, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙪𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙅𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙪𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙃𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙨' 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙩, 𝙃𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙪𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙃𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝙃𝙞𝙢𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛, 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙙𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨.

We give our best to others because in the same way, He gave is best for us.

When we go to church, we should start putting other members before ourselves. Take time to serve and pray for one another, and hear out each other's problems, and help if you can. This can serve as good practice for what we should do after we leave church for the rest of the week.

𝓗𝓪𝓹𝓹𝔂 𝓶𝓸𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓻'𝓼 𝓓𝓪𝔂!!!

God Bless all the faithful and loving mothers everywhere!

From Naomi, to Rahab to Mary, mothers have contributed and touched the hearts of many during the time of Scripture, and even until today. Take time to read about mothers and motherhood in the bible. Proverbs 31, for example, is a chapter of sayings which were given to King Lemuel by his mother. Even kings need mothers to remind them to stand for what is right and defend those who are poor and needy.

May all who have choosen the path of motherhood find rest and peace in Christ, despite their busy lives!
