LAST NIGHT'S CELESTIAL DUO: Moon and Venus Conjunction
A conjunction occurs when any two astronomical objects such as asteroids, moons, planets, and stars appear to be close together in the sky and share the same Right Ascension (RA) as observed from Earth. However, the closeness of these duo is only apparent from our viewpoint, as the objects are actually millions of kilometers apart.

22 September 2024 marks the beginning of the Autumnal Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and Vernal Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere. During equinoxes, the day and night are each approximately 12 hours long. Tomorrow, the Sun will rise at 5:45 AM and will set at 5:53 PM. The time discrepancy is caused by atmospheric refraction enabling us to observe the sun minutes before it actually rises and sets.

Look up!
A Perigee Full Moon, commonly known as a Super Moon, will grace our night sky tonight. It is an astronomical phenomenon occurring when the closest approach of the Moon to the Earth, referred to as perigee, coincides with a Full Moon. A Super Moon is about 7% bigger and 15% brighter than a regular Full Moon.
If the weather permits, we will be able to observe the Super Moon as it rises above the horizon at 6:08 PM until it sets at 5:36 AM the next day.
