𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗸𝗮-𝟭𝟳 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆𝗼 𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗮 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻! 💜

Ngayong araw, Agosto 14, ating ginugunita ang paglagda sa makasaysayang Republic Act No. 9710 o ang Magna Carta of Women. Ang batas na ito ang komprehensibong batas sa ating bansa na kumikilala, nagtatanggol, at nagtataguyod ng mga karapatan ng kababaihan.

Ito rin ang lokal na pagsasabatas ng mga probisyon ng Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), partikular sa pagbibigay-kahulugan sa gender discrimination, state obligations, substantive equality, at temporary special measures.

Maging ang paggamit ng salitang “of” sa pangalan nito ay kinikilala ang women's participation and ownership of the bill.

Labing-pitong taon ng pagsusulong ng karapatang pantao ng bawat kababaihang Pilipino. Sama-sama tayo para sa mas maunlad, mas ligtas, mas malaya, at mas inklusibong Pilipinas. 💜

| In Brief: International Conference on Addressing Technology-Facilitated Violence Against Women

As digital spaces increasingly shape our lives, technology-facilitated violence against women (TFVAW) is emerging as a critical global issue. To drive stronger responses, UN Women’s Knowledge and Partnerships Centre, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family of the Republic of Korea, and the Women’s Human Rights Institute of Korea co-hosted an international conference in Seoul in July 2024. This new brief, also supported by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, captures the key insights, challenges, and promising practices shared by experts, policymakers, and civil society. From AI-driven abuse to the urgent need for standard definitions and cross-border cooperation, the publication outlines actionable recommendations to strengthen data, legislation, and survivor-centered responses.

The Philippine Commission on Women reaffirms its commitment to advancing inclusivity, promoting human rights, and fostering a society where no one is left behind.

Our diversity is our strength. Together, let us build a nation where everyone is free to live authentically, safely, and with pride.

Hindi kailangang maging nanay, kapatid, o anak mo ang isang babae para igalang siya—tao siya, at sapat na iyon. Kaya nararapat lang na panatilihin ang respeto saan man tayo naroroon, mapa-kalsada man o sa social media, dahil responsibilidad nating lahat ang pagkakaroon ng ligtas na espasyo para sa bawat isa.

At tandaan, sa ilalim ng 𝗥𝗔 𝟭𝟭𝟯𝟭𝟯 𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝘁, may malinaw na proteksyon laban sa harassment sa pampublikong lugar, online platforms, pampublikong sasakyan, mga lugar ng trabaho, at mga paaralan.

Nasa atin ang pagpili kung magiging bahagi tayo ng problema o ng solusyon. Sana piliin natin ang mabuti at simulan ito sa paggalang.
