PEACEFUL TRILLION PESO MARCH MARKS 40TH EDSA ANNIVERSARY
The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief PNP, reported that the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution yesterday, including the so-called Trillion Peso March Rally, proceeded peacefully, with no untoward incidents recorded.โ.
Monitoring operations confirmed several assemblies conducted in various areas, including EDSA Shrine, Robinsons Galleria, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, University of the Philippines Diliman, Ermita Manila, and other locations such as Intramuros Manila and Pureza Street.
An estimated 8,750 participants joined various peaceful activities nationwide. In response, the PNP deployed 14,000 personnel to oversee security and monitoring operations, in line with the directive of the Chief PNP to uphold constitutional rights and ensure the orderly conduct of all activities.
PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. expressed gratitude to all police personnel for their dedication and professionalism, as well as to partner agencies and local government units for their cooperation in ensuring a safe and orderly commemoration.
Salamat rin sa lahat ng ating partner agencies at local government units na tumulong upang maging maayos at mapayapa ang ating mga monitoring activities,โ he said.
The overall assessment underscores respect for democratic expression and the successful coordination of security efforts. The PNP remains committed to protecting the rights of the public while maintaining peace and order under the principle of Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.

SEABORNE PATROL IN NAVOTAS HALTS ILLEGAL TIMBER TRANSPORT; CASE FILED AGAINST TRIO
A strong message against environmental crime was delivered in Navotas City early today after authorities intercepted a vessel transporting anahaw timber without proper documentation. Charges have been filed against three individuals, underscoring the governmentโs resolve to enforce environmental laws and protect natural resources.
The operation, led by the Baseco Maritime Law Enforcement Team (MLET), resulted in the apprehension of the suspects and the seizure of 130 pieces of anahaw timber along with the vessel used in the transport. The confiscated items and boat are valued at approximately PHP456,050.00. Investigation revealed that the timber was allegedly intended for delivery to Bataan, but the suspects failed to present the required permits for collection and transport.
Chief PNP, PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., highlighted the broader impact of the operation:
"This is not just about seizing illegal timberโitโs about protecting our communities and natural resources. โ
The arrested individuals were transported to the Northern NCR Maritime Police Station for processing and will face charges under Section 68 of Presidential Decree No. 705, also known as the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines, which penalizes the illegal cutting, gathering, removal, or possession of forest products without proper government authorization.
Authorities reiterated that strict enforcement of forestry and environmental regulations remains a priority under the PNP Focused Agenda through Enhanced Managing Police Operations. Public cooperation is likewise encouraged in reporting illegal activities that threaten the countryโs natural resources.
Violators of environmental laws may face imprisonment and substantial fines, reflecting the seriousness of offenses that undermine ecological preservation and sustainable resource management.
This accomplishment reflects the PNPโs continued efforts to enforce laws efficiently and fairly nationwide. As the organization maintains its dedication to public service, it reiterates its vision under the Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.

Notification Alert: Expired and Expiring LTOPF and Fi****ms Registration
Taking a decisive step toward smarter and more responsive public service, the Acting Director of the Civil Security Group has approved and activated the SMS Notification Advisory System for expiring Licenses to Own and Possess Fi****ms (LTOPF) and firearm registrations.
Through this system, automated text reminders will be sent directly to the phone numbers officially registered in the Fi****ms and Explosives Office (FEO) database or in the LTOPF online accounts of licensed firearm holders. LTOPF holders will receive notifications two months prior to the expiration of their licenses, while firearm registration holders will receive reminders one month before its expiration. In addition, license holders whose LTOPF or firearm registrations have already expired will also receive advisory messages, reminding them to renew immediately and comply with existing regulations.
This initiative reflects the commitment of the PNP to Serbisyong Mabilis by providing timely digital reminders before licenses validity lapse and prompt notifications even after expiration; Serbisyong Tapat through proactive and transparent communication with firearm owners, and Serbisyong Nararamdaman by delivering services directly to clients through their registered mobile phone numbers.
Firearm owners are encouraged to verify and update their contact information in their FEO online accounts to ensure that they receive SMS notifications. Only mobile phone numbers officially recorded in the system will receive advisories.
With this innovation, the CSG reinforces a technology-driven and client-focused approach to fi****ms regulation, ensuring that public service remains efficient, accessible, and truly felt by the community.
