π‹πŽπŽπŠ: In line with its commitment to environmental protection, natural resource conservation, and strengthened law enforcement capabilities, the Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte under the helm of the Station Commander Lieutenant Junior Grade Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG successfully participated and took part in 4-Day Paralegal Training on ENR Laws, Rules and Regulations for Deputation as Deputy Environment and Natural Resources Officer, Wildlife Enforcement Officer (WEO) and Deputy Environment and Natural Resources Officer (DENRO) held at PENRO Conference Hall, Butuan City, Agusan del Norte from 01 to 04 June 2026.

The intensive training program equipped participants with essential knowledge and skills on environmental laws, wildlife protection regulations, biodiversity conservation, enforcement procedures, investigation techniques and inter-agency coordination mechanisms aimed at combating environmental crimes and safeguarding the country’s natural resources wherein the course also emphasized the crucial role of law enforcement officers in the protection of wildlife habitats and the sustainable management of forest, coastal and marine ecosystems.

Through a series of lectures, discussions and practical exercises facilitated by environmental experts and resource persons, CGS SDN participants gained a deeper understanding of their responsibilities as environmental stewards and deputized officers tasked to support the enforcement of existing environmental and wildlife protection laws.

The successful completion of the said training further strengthens the operational readiness and capability of CGS SDN personnel in supporting environmental protection initiatives, wildlife conservation efforts and the preservation of the nation’s rich natural heritage as well as promoting environmental sustainability while ensuring the protection and responsible management of marine and terrestrial resources within CGS SDN area of responsibility.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: As the 4th Day of Brigada Eskwela 2026 unfolds, the Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte under the helm of the Station Commander Lieutenant Junior Grade Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG simultaneously participated in the 4th Day of Brigada Eskwela 2026 with the theme, "Bayanihan sa Paaralan, Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman" held within its respective areas of responsibility today, 04 June 2026.

CGS SDN personnel actively joined teachers, parents, students, local government units, stakeholders and community volunteers in carrying out essential school preparation efforts to ensure that learning institutions are safe and clean for the upcoming school year wherein activities were conducted included classroom cleaning, grounds maintenance, repair and rehabilitation of school facilities, waste management initiatives and other volunteer works aimed at improving the overall school environment.

The collective efforts of all volunteers reflect the true spirit of bayanihan, showcasing the power of unity and shared responsibility in supporting the education sector, wherein through active engagement in Brigada Eskwela, CGS SDN reaffirms its dedication not only to safeguarding lives at sea but also contributing to the development of resilient and empowered communities through quality education.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: In support of Brigada Eskwela 2026 and its continuing advocacy for environmental stewardship and community involvement, the Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte under the helm of the Station Commander Lieutenant Junior Grade Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG successfully participated in the Tree Planting Activity held at San Francisco National High School (SFNHS), Brgy. Poblacion, San Francisco, Surigao del Norte today, 02 June 2026.

The activity brought together various stakeholders, volunteers, educators and community partners in a collective effort to promote environmental sustainability while enhancing the school’s surroundings wherein through the planting of tree seedlings, participants contributed to the creation of a greener and more resilient environment that will benefit both present learners and generations to come.

Through this meaningful initiative not only supports the objectives of Brigada Eskwela in preparing schools for the opening of classes but also instills the value of environmental responsibility among learners and the community.

Likewise, the initiative was conducted in support to the Intensified Community Awareness, Assistance, Response and Enforcement (iCARE) program of the PCG which highlighted the importance of shared responsibility and active community involvement in promoting sustainable environmental stewardship as well as a healthier environment for everyone.

A total of fifty (50) fruit bearing trees were successfully planted in the abovementioned location which contributed to the restoration thereby strengthening not only the environmental stewardship but also underscores the importance of protecting and preserving the natural resources for present and future generations.

The ceremony formally marked the transfer of leadership and responsibilities from the outgoing Officer-in-Charge, Regional Director Maria Roselyn P. CasataΓ±o, to the incoming Regional Director, Engr. Jedini Nur A. Sibal wherein the event served as a significant milestone in ensuring the continuity of MARINA’s programs, initiatives and commitment to the advancement of the maritime industry in the Caraga Region.

The men and women of Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte proudly congratulates SN1 Arnold C Merin PCG for successfully completing the 21KM Category earning his finisher medal with pride and dedication which demonstrates unwavering support for programs that promote health awareness, community solidarity and public service.

The event brought together runners, fitness enthusiasts, government agencies and members of the community in a celebration of endurance, discipline and camaraderie wherein through his participation, SN1 Merin PCG exemplified the Philippine Coast Guard’s dedication to promoting physical fitness, resilience and an active lifestyle while fostering stronger ties with the local community.

πˆπ‚π˜πŒπˆ: On 28 May 2026, the Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte under the helm of the Station Commander Lieutenant Junior Grade Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG formally received a Certificate of Appreciation from Surigao Education Center (SEC) NSTP-CWTS in recognition of the station's invaluable support and active participation in the Mangrove Planting and Coastal Clean-Up Activity held at the adopted 10-hectare mangrove plantation area of Coast Guard District Northeastern Mindanao in Brgy. Nabago, Surigao City on 14 February 2026.

The successful conduct of the activity was made possible through the collective efforts and strong partnership between PCG-CGS SDN alongside with CGDNEM Operational Control Units and SEC NSTP-CWTS staff and students demonstrating the importance of collaboration in advancing environmental awareness and community engagement through initiatives such as mangrove planting and coastal clean-up drives which both institutions continue to contribute to the protection and rehabilitation of coastal areas while fostering a culture of environmental responsibility among the youth and the community.

Meanwhile, a coordination meeting was also conducted to discuss the possible utilization of a room facility owned by SEC to serve as a venue for the accommodation and conduct of the Radio Operation and Maintenance Specialization Course (ROMSC) of qualified PCG personnel for the said schooling wherein the discussion focused on ensuring the availability of a suitable learning environment that will support the effective delivery of training, enhance the technical competencies and contribute to the continuous professional development of PCG personnel which both parties also explored areas of cooperation and logistical arrangements necessary to facilitate the implementation of the said specialization course that will further strengthen the institutional collaboration in support of capacity-building and operational readiness initiatives.
