DAY 15 - February 21, 2025
Phase 02 of Cadet Attachment Program - Station Immersion

SINAGLAWIN Class of 2025 (TEAM 18) has been officially turned over from Police Regional Office 4A (PRO 4A) back to the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Academics Group; this will continue to the phase 3 of their Cadet Attachment Program as they prepare themselves to become a public safety officer. The team sincerely appreciates the Tanauan Component City Police Station (CCPS) for their warm hospitality, support, and commitment to their learning experience. Under the leadership of PLTCOL ANGELITO KATIGBAK GUARDIAN, the cadets have acquired necessary knowledge, discipline, and skills that will serve as first hand experience in the field of public safety and their careers.

The mentorship and guidance provided by the Tanauan CCPS personnel have been instrumental in broadening the cadets' understanding of real-world policing. The lessons learned both in practical fieldwork and station operations will undoubtedly shape their approach as they move forward in the next phase of the Cadet Attachment Program.

DAY 14 - February 20, 2025
Phase 02 of Cadet attachment Program - Station Immersion

Tanauan Component City Police Station - The cadets begin to feel the weight of responsibility that comes in the police service or law enforcement beyond what textbooks could teach.
The day started at a checkpoint operation in the heart of Tanauan City. The cadets watched as vehicles were stopped, drivers were checked, and documents were verified. They saw how a simple routine could quickly turn into a high-alert situation, requiring officers to stay sharp, professional, and courteous at the same time. It was a lesson in balance—upholding the law while respecting the rights of civilians.

After the checkpoint, the cadets joined officers on mobile patrol in Sector 3, on the different streets in the city. It was an entirely different experience to see the community from a patrol officer's perspective. It is no longer just a city; it is a network of neighborhoods, a community of people who need a police officer to prevent crime and maintain peace and order. The cadets observed how a visible police presence can deter crime and provide reassurance to the residents. Later in the day, the cadets got an inside look at the police blotter system. They learned how every crime, complaint, or police interaction is recorded in the Blue Book, a document that serves as the official and legal record. It has become clear that accuracy in reporting is just as important as action in the field. One missing detail or incorrect entry could affect investigations and legal proceedings. By the end of the day, the cadets were not only learning procedures, they were understanding the reason for them. From the streets to the station, every experience was preparing them for the realities of law enforcement.

DAY 13 - February 19, 2025
Phase 02 of Cadet attachment Program - Station Immersion

The cadets conducted an information drive about the PNPA Cadet Admission Test (PNPACAT) 2025 for interns from Tanauan Institute, aiming to raise awareness about the application process and inspire aspiring law enforcers to pursue a career in the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA).

During the session, the cadets provided a comprehensive overview of the PNPACAT, covering eligibility requirements, application procedures, examination coverage, and important dates. They stressed the importance of the test as the first step toward becoming a PNPA cadet, which opens the door to a future career as a commissioned officer in the Philippine National Police As part of their upcoming cap-based scenario, the cadets observed the structure and composition of the Tanauan City Police Station. This observation allowed them to gain firsthand insight into the organizational framework and operational functions of a local police unit. In addition, the cadets participated in a seminar on financial literacy conducted by agents from the Armed Forces and Police Mutual Benefit Association. This session provided valuable knowledge on financial management, savings, and investment strategies tailored for uniformed personnel, helping them develop financial responsibility and security for their future careers.

DAY 12 - February 18, 2025
Phase 02 of Cadet attachment Program - Station Immersion

The cadets immersed themselves in the local police station by participating in various activities, including the accounting of personnel and a briefing on their tasks and duties led by PCPT Nicanor Micosa. Following the formation, a short and long firearm inspection of the personnel was conducted to ensure proper handling and maintenance of weapons.

As part of crime prevention efforts, the cadets also observed the regular mobile patrol of police officers in communities. Mobile patrols serve as a strong deterrent to criminal activities such as theft and robbery, particularly in high-risk areas like convenience stores. Criminals are less likely to act when law enforcement is actively patrolling an area. Additionally, these patrols enable a quick response to emergencies, accidents, and crime reports, reducing the chances of escalation and increasing the likelihood of apprehending suspects. Beyond crime prevention, mobile patrols also foster stronger community engagement by building trust and encouraging residents to report suspicious activities.

The cadets further participated in a barangay visitation in Barangay Darasa, where they met with the barangay captain and other local officials. Barangay visitations play a crucial role in maintaining peace and order at the community level. Regular visits by police officers strengthen their presence in barangays, fostering a sense of security among residents and deterring criminal activities. These visitations also allow law enforcement to engage with community leaders, address local concerns, and gather valuable intelligence on potential threats.

In addition, the cadets engaged in an establishment visitation with the Tanauan City Police. This initiative is an essential crime prevention strategy that enhances security and strengthens police-community relations. Through these visitations, police officers interact directly with business owners and staff, addressing security concerns and providing guidance on crime prevention measures. These efforts help businesses implement safety protocols, report suspicious activities, and contribute to a safer commercial environment.

Overall, the cadets’ participation in these activities provided them with firsthand experience in law enforcement operations, reinforcing their understanding of crime prevention and community engagement.

DAY 11 - February 17, 2025
Phase 02 of Cadet attachment Program - Station Immersion

On February 17, 2025, Tanauan City in Batangas held its traditional Monday flag-raising ceremony at the New Tanauan City Hall. The event was attended by city officials and employees, also with the Tanauan CCPS and the Cadets of the PNPA team 18 who gathered to honor the national flag and commence the week's activities. Practicing the supervision by talking to the Criminology intern from Tanauan Institute college. The cadets joined the mobile patrol of the police of Tanauan city CCPS, 2 cadets were assigned in every sector in the city, a mobile patrol and a pair of police officer is assigned to rove and conduct a police visibility through mobile patrol. During the mobile patrol the cadets encountered a road crash against a concrete loader truck and an AUV within the premises of sector 05, Talisay-Tanauan Road STAR Toll way exit. The cadets observed the process in taking such evidence by photography in different view. In order to settle the accident, the both parties are invited to the Tanauan CCPS to turnover the complaint and to settle the accident in. the different teams witnessed the different scenario in their respective sectors like the establishment visit in the business establishments.

A Comelec check point was conducted at barangay Talaga Infront of Talaga ES it was observed by the cadets. However, some lapses were noticed by blue team led PCPT PONCIANO T EBORA JR, PEMAC 3rd DIST. SUPERVISOR, the lack of signage of checkpoint and the position were cautioned by the blue team. The team immediately corrected the spotted lapses of the team.

The day ends with the visitation of PCOL MARIA SHIELA T PORTENTO, Acting Dean of Academics PNPA at Tanauan City CPS. He then talks to the cadets that the first-hand experience that you will gain in the station immersion will is essential for the cadets to established their knowledge in the real world of law enforcement.

DAY 10 - February 14, 2025
Phase 02 of Cadet attachment Program - Station Immersion

Valentine's Day - The staff of Tanauan CCPS conducted a stencil and rifle accounting to verify the issued long and short fi****ms of the police. This process ensures that all fi****ms are in the possession of their assigned officers and are properly accounted for. PMaj. MARTIN reminded all personnel to always carry their issued firearm as part of their uniform. This directive reinforced the importance of staying prepared, being responsible for assigned fi****ms, and maintaining accountability. Every piece of equipment plays a crucial role in keeping operations organized. It isn't just about following rules, it's about readiness and responsibility.

We proceeded to the EOD unit, where we witnessed their safety protocols in action like the precision and discipline when handling explosives. Seeing their careful approach was both eye opening and humbling, giving me a greater appreciation for the risks they take and the level of accuracy their job requires. Their unwavering focus on safety and attention to detail left a lasting impression on me.

We witnessed the serving of a search warrant, observing law enforcement carry out an operation while making certain everything was done correctly gave me a better understanding of how vital preparation and teamwork are. It also made me think about the need to balance enforcing the law with respecting people's rights.

DAY 09 - February 13, 2025
Phase 02 of Cadet attachment Program - Station Immersion

Serving of search warrant led by PMAJ ROBIN LLANES MARTIN, Deputy Chief of Police at Victoria Homes Brgy. Darasa, the cadets observed the said serving of search warrant on alleged possession of loss firearm and ammunition. PMAJ ROBIN LLANES MARTIN read the warrant in front of the alleged individual and asked to affix his signature, with the presence of the barangay councilor and the police officers as searcher inside the house subject indicated in Search warrant then, they conducted the search which is recorded in a two (2) Body Worn Camera (BWCs) approximately 30 minutes in duration. In the end, the search resulted in a negative search.

We accompanied Philippine National Police officers to turn over a child in conflict with the law (CICL). The minor had faced six complaints for theft and had previously been placed in Tanauan Bahay Pag-asa but managed to escape. On our way back to Tanauan CCPS, we received a call informing us about an upcoming checkpoint in Brgy. Talaga, led by PLTCOL Angelito Katigbak Guardian, Chief of Police of Tanauan CCPS. Without delay, we proceeded directly to the location.

DAY 08 - February 12, 2025
Phase 02 of Cadet attachment Program - Station Immersion

Team 18 went to the Bureau of Jail and Management Penology Tanauan City Jail headed by JSInsp. EDNAR B YBAÑEZ, Chief Warden. They visited the jail facility and learned about the importance of ensuring the safekeeping and development of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) in the city. With the help of the jail officers, we are able to have a tour inside the facility. They showcased how the PDL manage to have their development inside the jail facility like the education through vocational course and the skill development of the DPL with the help of other government agencies like the TESDA. We also witnessed the Livelihood Program inside, where they craft different products, especially to the trend of Valentine's Day. They have made bouquets of flowers made from raw materials such as ratan, strings, and cottons.

A complaint from the representatives of Villarica Pawnshop in an alleged robbery incident, with this PCPT MICOSA discussed the importance of updating and maintenance of security system and the strengthening security personnel to secure their facilities against possible robbery incidents. They have discussed the frequent calls received by the Tanauan Component City Police Stations coming from three (3) Villarica branches. The police station assumed that there was an incident occurred in the area.

DAY 07 - February 11, 2025
Phase 02 of Cadet attachment Program - Station Immersion

The 7th day at the Tanauan Component City Police Station (CCPS) as part of their Cadet Attachment Program. The experience gave them a hands-on look at real police work, allowing them to deepen their understanding of law enforcement operations. The day began with a mobile patrol around Tanauan City, where they saw firsthand how police visibility plays a role in maintaining peace and order.

A visit to the Police Assistance Center (PAC) in Brgy. Talaga this serves a community post of the police to provide a more convenient way in the paraphernalia in different operations provided them with a better grasp of community-based policing and how officers address public concerns at the grassroots level.

The cadets also give their time to witness the transfer of custody of five Persons Under Police Custody (PUPC) from the Tanauan CCPS Lock-Up Cell to Tanauan City Jail. PSSG Maraquilla explained the turnover process and the importance of the commitment order issued by the presiding judge of RTC Branch 66 to execute the transfer of custody.

Through these first-hand experiences, the cadets broaden their gained knowledge and may be able to apply it in real life. This course prepares cadets for the challenges and responsibilities they will face as future law enforcement officers.

DAY 06 - February 10, 2025

Phase 02 of Cadet attachment Program - Station Immersion

The week began with Monday flag raising Ceremony at Tanauan City Hall. With Hon. Nelson "Sonny" Perez Collantes, Tanauan CCPS Chief of Police, PLTCOL VIRGILIO M JOPIA, and all the personnel of Tanauan City Hall.

Followed by the Police Information and Continuing Education (PICE) session led by PCPT NICANOR MICOSA. The session covered updates on police operations, legal mandates, and administrative procedures, giving us deeper insights into the continuous learning culture within the PNP.

The cadets observed the process of report assessment and the writing of an investigation report for a vehicular accident happened in Tanauan city. The importance of accurate documentation in police work, ensuring that incidents are recorded comprehensively and in accordance with legal standards. Properly written reports are crucial in case resolution, legal proceedings, and maintaining transparency in law enforcement.

Complaint at the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD), gaining valuable insights into handling cases involving vulnerable individuals. Additionally, we visited the Lock-Up Cell at Tanauan CCPS, enhancing our understanding of detainee management and custodial procedures. Another significant learning experience was witnessing the application of a Search Warrant at Regional Trial Court Branch 66, under the guidance of PMAJ ROBIN L. MARTIN, which provided a firsthand look at the legal processes involved in law enforcement operations.

The day ends with the visit of PCOL ANGELA Q REJANO, Assistant Dean of Academics of PNPA. In the station immersion of the cadets. Her presence was a reminder of the academy’s continuous guidance and support throughout our immersion.
