A wonderful day yesterday as we attended the MOA Signing between the Provincial Government of Southern Leyte and Asian Pyrochem Technologies, Inc., represented by its CEO, Engr. Harley Luis T. Keano, for the Abaca Investment Project.

We also received kitchen kits and utensils from DSWD for the City Government of Maasin, which will further support our local programs and community initiatives.

It is always encouraging to see partnerships that create new opportunities for our farmers, strengthen local livelihoods, and contribute to the growth of Southern Leyte.

I happily welcomed FINSP Albert A. Ortiz, the newly designated Acting City Fire Marshal of the Maasin City Fire Station, together with FSO2 Rex Navarette, during their courtesy visit to the Office of the City Mayor.

I look forward to working closely with our new Acting City Fire Marshal and the entire Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)–Maasin City in strengthening fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and the safety of every Maasinhon.

In support of the national observance of the 34th National Family Week and “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga” Day, and pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 136, s. 2026, issued by the Office of the President, the City Government of Maasin, through Administrative Order no. 48, will suspend work in City Government offices starting at 1:00 PM today, September 28, 2026.

The local issuance complements the national government’s observance and gives City Government employees the opportunity to spend meaningful time with their families.

𝐄𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥, particularly the City Health Offices and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of health, emergency, disaster response, and other vital services.

Regular government operations will resume on the next working day.
