On September 29, 2026, the barangays of Tabontabon actively participated in the Zoom Orientation on the observance of National Consciousness Month, highlighting the theme “Peace in Action”.

The orientation aimed to deepen awareness and understanding of the importance of peace, unity, active citizenship, and community participation in building peaceful and resilient communities.

DILG Tabontabon Attends 3rd Quarter Joint Meeting of MCPC, LCAT VAWC ABD GFPS Meeting

DILG Tabontabon participated in the 3rd quarter Meetings of the Municipal Council for the Protection of Children(MCPC), Local Committee on Anti-trafficking and Violence Against Women and Children (LCAT-VAWC) and Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) on September 28, 2026 at Crisis Center, MSWDO Building, Tabontabon, Leyte.

The meetings provided an avenue to discuss updates, assess ongoing programs and activities, and strengthen coordination among concerned offices and stakeholders in promoting the protection and welfare of children, preventing violence and trafficking, and advancing gender-responsive governance.

THIRD-PARTY MONITORING OF LGSF FY 2022 PROJECT

On September 28, 2026, the DILG Tabontabon facilitated the conduct of Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) of the LGSF FY 2022 Construction of Flood Control/Slope Protection along Guinarona River.

The TPM is a partnership-building initiative between the DILG and Gawad Kalinga, designed to provide an independent, objective, and evidence-based assessment of Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) projects.

Through this activity, the project was assessed based on actual site conditions, project implementation, and supporting documents, promoting transparency, accountability, and quality in the delivery of government-funded projects.

🥗 LAUNCHING OF THE NUTRITION PROGRAM

The LGU Tabontabon headed by Mayor Efren D. Redoña officially launched its Nutrition Program under the Local Government Support Fund – Growth Equity Fund (LGSF-GEF) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government on September 24, 2026 at LGU Building, in order to combat malnutrition and support vulnerable mothers and 0-59 months old children.

This initiative underscores the LGU’s commitment to improving the nutrition, health, and well-being of our young children. Through the collective efforts of the LGU, health and nutrition workers, parents, and community partners, we continue to build a healthier and stronger generation.

The Municipality of Tabontabon convened its Joint Municipal Peace and Order Council and Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council Meeting, focusing on the review of the Peace and Order Public Safety Plan, updates on the peace and order and anti-drug programs, and the monitoring of the implementation of PPAs as of the 3rd quarter of CY 2026.

The meeting provided an avenue for the Council members and concerned offices to assess accomplishments, identify implementation gaps and effective implementation of priority programs, projects and activities.

📚 SK SEMINAR-WORKSHOP ON CBYDP 2027-2029 AND SK ANNUAL BUDGET FY 2027

The Sangguniang Kabataan officials of the Municipality of Tabontabon actively participated in the Seminar-Workshop on the Formulation of the Comprehensive Barangay Youth Development Plan (CBYDP) 2027-2029 and SK Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2027 on September 18-19, 2026.

The activity aimed to enhance the capacity of SK officials in planning, prioritizing, and budgeting programs and projects that are responsive to the needs, concerns, and aspirations of the youth.

Through the workshop, participants were guided in ensuring that the CBYDP and SK Annual Budget are properly aligned, promoting effective implementation, responsible use of resources, transparency, and accountability in youth governance.
