Starting today, the nationwide gun ban will be in effect through June 11, 2025, as part of the election period for the May 2025 elections.

This measure is instituted by the Commission on Elections COMELEC to maintain safety and order during the election process.
Only specific groups, including law enforcement agencies, justices, judges and certain professionals such as cashiers handling large sums of money, are exempted under the COMELEC Resolution No. 11067.

Other licensed gun owners must comply with the ban or apply for a Certificate of Authority from the COMELEC to carry fi****ms legally.
