As fuel prices rise, Filipinos are hit twice—by higher pump prices and increasing VAT. This added burden comes at a time when many families are already struggling.

We call for the immediate imposition of a cap on fuel VAT to prevent excessive taxation during periods of high oil prices. This measure will provide much-needed relief to transport workers, farmers, fisherfolk, and ordinary Filipino families.

In times of crisis, taxation must be fair, compassionate, and responsive to the needs of the people.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝑺𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒔 𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔 – 𝑬𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝑽𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒔 (𝑳𝒆𝒚𝒕𝒆) 2026, a Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (𝙏𝙀𝙎𝘿𝘼) event held at 𝗔𝗖𝗟𝗖 Tacloban City Campus, brought together some of the brightest and most promising talents in the region.

From creativity to technical mastery, the competition showcased dedication, innovation, and the true spirit of Filipino craftsmanship. It’s inspiring to see how these young professionals continue to raise the bar and represent the future of skilled excellence.

It is a proud day for the province and the entire academic community as we celebrate the official conversion of Sulu State College into 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐮 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲!

This milestone stands as a powerful testament to the excellence, resilience, and spirit of service that the institution has fostered through the years. It marks the beginning of an even brighter chapter in higher education—opening new doors for innovation and greater opportunities for all.

We have come to recognize that the challenge before us is no longer access alone. It is ensuring that every student is supported to complete their education, find meaningful opportunities after graduation, and remain adaptable in a rapidly changing world.
