HIGH-PROFILE DRUG SUSPECT ARRESTED DURING A BUY-BUST OPERATION IN TACLOBAN CITY
TACLOBAN CITY – In line with TCPO’s intensified police operation against illegal drugs, the City Police Drug Enforcement Unit (CPDEU), under the supervision of PCOL NOELITO A GETIGAN, City Director, arrested a High-Value Individual (HVI) and confiscated suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation conducted in Brgy. 109 V&G, Tacloban City, on June 8, 2026.
The arrested suspect was identified as alias “John-John,” a 36-year-old male, unemployed, and a resident of Tacloban City, and listed as high-value individual.
Confiscated from the suspect were three (3) pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be “Shabu,” one (1) coin purse, and bogus money.
The seized evidences were properly marked and inventoried on-site in the presence of the required witnesses in accordance with legal procedures.
The suspect is now under the custody of Tacloban City Police Office for documentation and filing of appropriate charges against him.
The successful anti-drug operation was conducted by elements of CPDEU in coordinattion with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 8 (PDEA RO-8).
PCOL GETIGAN underscores TCPO’s commitment to eradicating illegal activities in Tacloban City. “We will not allow illegal drugs to destroy families in Tacloban City. We will continue to intensify our efforts to eliminate illegal drugs and save lives,” he said.

IN PHOTOS | PCOL NOELITO A GETIGAN, City Director, led the Traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony at TCPO Headquarters, Paterno Ext., Tacloban City, earlier today, June 8, 2026.
The highlight of the ceremony was the awarding of certificates to deserving PNP Uniformed and Non-Uniformed personnel who have shown exemplary performance of duty that contributed to the accomplishments of TCPO.
Awarded during the activity were PSSg Norman T Abellanosa, PSSg Bernardo B Palatino Jr., PCpl Brayan C Daylo, Pat Marlon Nikko G Roa, and NUP Cheryl V Dermil.
Likewise, one (1) unit of printer was also handed over to the City Police Strategy Management Unit.
