It is a scholarship opportunity for Filipinos to study at the graduate level (master’s or doctoral studies) or pursue non-degree doctoral dissertation research in the United States.

Grants under the Fulbright Foreign Student Program for Filipinos are for a maximum of one academic year for non-degree, one to two years for master’s, and two years for doctoral degree studies. The grant provides for round-trip international travel, monthly maintenance allowance, tuition and fees, book/supplies allowance, and health and accident insurance.

Approved na po sa Committee ang House Bill 7442 na magpapalakas sa Anti-Hospital Detention Law (RA 9439).

Layunin ng HB 7442 na:
•⁠ ⁠Siguruhing walang pasyente o pamilya ang madedetain o mahahadlangan makauwi dahil lamang sa kakulangan ng kakayahang pinansyal para mabayaran ang hospital bill;
•⁠ ⁠Kilalanin ang paggamit ng mga Guarantee Letters (GLs) mula sa PhilHealth, SSS, GSIS, at DSWD sa pag-execute ng promissory note upang matulungan ang pasyente o pamilya ng namatay sa agarang discharge;
•⁠ ⁠Payagan pa ring ma-discharge ang mga pasyenteng napunta sa private room dahil sa emergency, kakulangan ng regular na kwarto, o dahil kinakailangan para sa kanilang gamutan (hal. ICU, isolation, quarantine);
•⁠ ⁠Siguruhing mailalabas ang mga kinakailangang medical at death-related documents sa tamang panahon, kahit may natitirang balanse.

Tinalakay din ang pagpapalakas ng pagpapatupad ng batas upang masigurong ang mga paglabag ay agad na maiimbestigahan at mapapanagot ang may responsibilidad.

Patuloy po tayong magsusulong ng mga batas na nagtatanggol sa karapatan at dignidad ng bawat Pilipino.
