The ADA, passed in 1990, ensures fire alarms are accessible for people with hearing loss by using flashing lights as visual alerts.
🔊💡 In 1999, NFPA 72 added a rule that strobes must flash in sync to protect people with light sensitivity or epilepsy.
⚡ Today’s strobes must flash within 10 milliseconds and each flash must last 20 milliseconds or less.
