DepEd Memorandum no. 045,s.2026 entitled, 2026 Nutrition Month Celebration guided by the overarching theme, Sa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat, with today's year's subtheme, "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan" with emphasizes the strong connection between nutrition and environmental protection, with focus on climate action. It recognizes that the health of people and health of the planet is inseparable.
In support of this celebration, our school launch a series of health-promoting activities that empowered learners to make healthier choices and adopt nutritious habits.
With the support of parents, and community partners, nutritious and balanced meals were prepared and served to learners. These meals highlighted local, affordable, and nutrient-foods that promote growth, energy, and well-being.
Teachers conducted age-appropriate discussions and hands on activities integrating health and nutrition in GMRC, Science, MAPEH and EPP subjects. Topics included food groups, benefits of healthy eating, proper hygiene, food safety and importance of regular physical activity.
Prior to lunch, the assigned midwife in our community, Maโam Marice I. Pollito, led an engaging session on proper handwashing, emphasizing the five steps and crucial role it plays in preventing illness. Learners practiced correct handwashing and pledged to make it a daily habit.
These activities reflect our whole-school-of- community approach to promoting health, building lifelong healthy habits, and nurturing well-rounded learners. Together, we are building a healthier Batayan Primary School and healthier Batayan Community.
Eat right, stay active, and live well- para sa nutrisyong sapat para sa lahat!
