PDEA RO2 Spreads Joy and Hope Through Outreach Activity in Solana
In celebration of the birthday of Regional Director DIR III Gil Cesario P. Castro, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 02 (PDEA RO2) turned a personal milestone into an opportunity to give back and bring joy to vulnerable women and children through a meaningful outreach activity held on September 1, 2026, in Lingu, Solana, Cagayan.
In partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 02 (DSWD FO2), PDEA RO2 reached out to beneficiaries of the Regional Haven for Women and Girls and the Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC), Field Office 02, providing gifts, assistance, and moments of fun and fellowship.
The activity was highlighted by gift-giving and interactive activities designed to foster joy, creativity, and meaningful connections among the beneficiaries. PDEA RO2 personnel and its OJTs joined the women and children in singing, dancing, and card-making activities, creating a warm and welcoming environment throughout the celebration.
Adding excitement to the occasion were PDEA’s beloved mascots, Agent Phed and Buster, who entertained and interacted with the beneficiaries, bringing laughter and smiles, especially among the children.
The outreach was made possible through the generosity of PDEA RO2’s private partners and sponsors, whose valuable contributions helped provide gifts and other forms of assistance to the beneficiaries.
The participating sponsors were:
Herrera Car Trading, Mr. Nestor Simangan, Gina’s Panganan, G Place Residences-Baguio, Anne’s Sweet Treats, Motech, Mga Babaeng May K, Expresso Express, Chef Hana, Pitstop, JB and Sons Body Shop, PTC Auto Repair Shop, and Gilsah Marketing.
In recognition of their generosity and steadfast support, Certificates of Appreciation were presented to the participating sponsors for their significant contribution to the success of the outreach activity.
For PDEA RO2, the initiative reflects the agency’s broader commitment to building a safer and drug-free Region 2, one that extends beyond law enforcement and drug prevention efforts to include compassion, community involvement, social responsibility, and support for vulnerable sectors.
The activity also reflected the spirit of RD Castro’s birthday celebration: a milestone made more meaningful by sharing blessings with others. Rather than simply marking another year, the occasion became an opportunity for the PDEA RO2 family, together with its partners, to reach out to those in need and create moments of happiness and hope.
PDEA RO2 expressed its sincere appreciation to DSWD FO2, the generous private partners and sponsors, and PDEA RO2 personnel who contributed their resources, time, talents, and efforts to make the activity possible.
Through this initiative, PDEA RO2 reaffirmed that its mission to protect communities is anchored not only on enforcement, but also on service, compassion, and the shared responsibility of building communities where every individual especially women and children can feel supported, valued, and safe.
Indeed, the most meaningful celebrations are those that turn blessings into kindness, milestones into service, and simple moments into lasting memories.
