On 28 May 2026, the 54th Engineer โSarangayโ Brigade, Philippine Army conducted a courtesy call with Dr. Kelly S. Geronimo, MD, Head Manager of the Health Emergency Management Staff โ Operation Center of the Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC).
The delegation was led by MAJ JONATHAN P REVANTE (CE) PA, GSMO, together with personnel from the Civil-Military Operations Office of the Brigade.
The activity aims to establish a Strategic Advisory Council that will help improve the strategies, partnerships and organizational effectiveness in support of national security and nation-building efforts.

PAGADIAN CITYโOn May 25, 2026, the 547th Engineer โAGILAโ Battalion, 54th Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army, held a successful leadership change for its main units at the Battalion Bantay Laya Hall in Kuta Dao, Pagadian City, showing their renewed focus on being flexible and excellent in their work. The joint Command Turnover Ceremony for Alpha Company and the Headquarters and Headquarters Company was officially presided over by LTC ANABELLE R PARAAN CE (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer of this unit.
โThe high-profile event commenced with the ceremonial pinning of the unit patch to 1LT JOHANNES PAOLO EZRA B CAรONEO (CE) PA a tradition officially administered by LTC PARAAN to welcome the Officer into the fold before he assumed higher responsibilities. Following this custom, the core ceremony featured the formal transfer of unit flags, symbolizing the seamless transition of authority, continuity of mission accomplishment, and the absolute maintenance of combat-support readiness across the battalion's ranks.
The event also highlighted the awarding ceremony for the "Biggest Loser Challenge." Sgt Jorelyn D Montillano (AGS) PA and PFC Sherwin Ray A Fuentes (Inf) PA won the Individual Category, while the Headquarters and Headquarters Company won the Company Category. These champions were celebrated for their exceptional discipline, wellness, and dedication to physical fitness.
โIn a key leadership shift for the battalion's tactical assets, the command of Alpha Company was formally transferred from the Outgoing Commanding Officer, 1LT SHALIMAR ELVIN M SAWATE (CE) PA, to the Incoming Commanding Officer, 1LT RANDY S AO-WAT JR (CE) PA. Simultaneously, the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, which was previously headed by CPT RHEANDJELLY S DAUG (CE) PA, officially handed over its administration to the newly pinned 1LT CAรONEO, securing a synchronized evolution of leadership across both vital sub-units.
โIn their addresses, the outgoing commanders expressed profound gratitude to their troops for the unwavering loyalty, discipline, and grit extended to them throughout their respective tenures. In response, the incoming commanders accepted the mantle of responsibility with a shared pledge to uphold the battalionโs stringent standards of excellence, fortify unit camaraderie, and drive their respective companies toward relentless mission success and operational capability.
โIn her message, LTC PARAAN emphasizing that leadership transitions are the lifeblood of military professionalism, vital to maintaining institutional continuity, fresh tactical perspectives, and overall organizational lethality. She charged the newly installed commanders and the entire "AGILA" formation to remain fiercely united, highly disciplined, and steadfast in the ex*****on of the battalionโs defense and engineering mandate in dedicated service to the nation and the Filipino people.

On 27 May 2026, the 54th Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army strengthens unity, respect, and cultural harmony today as it joins the Muslim community in the meaningful celebration of Eidโl Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice.
The dayโs centerpiece was the congregational prayer, where Muslim personnel of the 54th Engineer Brigade gathered alongside members of the local Muslim community.
The prayer service reflected the core values of Eidโl Adha: sacrifice, obedience to faith, compassion, and sharing with those in need.
The 54th Engineer Brigade once again demonstrated that unity in diversity is one of the nationโs greatest strengths.

OROQUIETA CITY, MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL โ In a powerful demonstration of Inter-Agency Synergy, the 547th Engineer โAgilaโ Battalion successfully participated in simulation drills for OPLAN โSAGANG MISAMISNONโ 01-2026. The high-stakes, two-day exercise was conducted at the Asenso Misamis Occidental Sports and Cultural Center (AMOSACC) from May 19 to 20, 2026.
โThe intensive training put participating units through rigorous, scenario-based drills designed to stress-test rapid response capabilities, territorial defense strategies and public safety protocols. By focusing heavily on real-time information sharing and unified command structures, the exercise bridged the gap between theoretical planning and battlefield ex*****on.
โThis exercise wasnโt just about readiness; it was about proving that our combined forces can seamlessly neutralize emerging threats at a moment's notice.

The activity was hosted by BGEN DARWIN F HERNANDEZ PA, Commander, 54th Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army, as a gesture of gratitude and recognition for LTC SARMIENTOโs invaluable support and dedicated service to the Brigade.
During the activity, BGEN HERNANDEZ formally handed over a plaque of appreciation to LTC SARMIENTO bearing the citation recognizing her unwavering support and steadfast commendable service to the 54th Engineer โSarangayโ Brigade, Philippine Army. The citation highlighted her significant contributions in enhancing unit effectiveness and in the successful accomplishment of the Brigadeโs mission and overall operational objectives.
The Exit Call served as an opportunity to acknowledge the strong partnership and cooperation between the 54th Engineer Brigade and 9FSSU, SPCOM, PA, further strengthening the spirit of camaraderie and professionalism within the Philippine Army.

On 22 May 2026, the 54th Engineer โSarangayโ Brigade, Philippine Army received thirty-five (35) donated chairs from the Armed Forces and Police Savings and Loan Association, Inc. (AFPSLAI) Zamboanga Branch through a ceremonial turn-over held at the Brigade Headquarters.
The donation was formally handed over by Ms. Ma Patricia Drapiza, Head of AFPSLAI Zamboanga Branch, to BGEN DARWIN F HERNANDEZ PA, Commander, 54th Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army.
The activity reflects the continued partnership and support to financial institution in promoting the welfare and operational readiness of military personnel.
