Green School Campaign: A Love Affair with Nature

Share

The Green School Campaign devotes the entire month of February to giving back to nature.

This campaign is funded by the US Embassy Aid and is spearheaded by the Ecowatch Organization and Social Awareness and Community Service Involvement in partnership with the El Consejo. For the whole month of February, there will be series of activities that involve nurturing and propagation of bamboo cuttings, ornamental plants and endemic seedlings. Additional activities will include coastal clean-up and planting of bamboos, trees and mangroves in the identified strategic areas.

It has been a fruitful month of February!

We would like to thank the people who have actively participated in this project. As of February 21, 2016, we have successfully propagated 2,130 bamboo cuttings for our adopted community partners.

For those who still wish to propagate bamboo cuttings, don't hesitate to contact the Ecowatch President, Ms. Pillar del Cielo Cabanlit (09065808060) or just drop by the SACSI Office and look for Mrs. Welma Omboy.

Let us continue to show our love for mother earth in our own little way. Again, THANK YOU!

Last February 4, 2016, Ms. Princess Wooden, the Deputy Director of Thomas Jefferson Information Center (TJIC), visited the nursery and was introduced to the process of propagating bamboo cuttings.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the TJIC for funding this project and helping make the dream come true.
