Some people breathe better in empty rooms. I like mine with stories.

Here, we mixed old and new, highlighting local materials from rattan to capiz shells.

Creative Christmas trees inside some of Manila's most stylish homes

Ram Lopez-Vito Bucoy, Interior Decorator

When decorating my tree and space, I was never into trends and was always bound to tradition. I love the nostalgia Christmas brings, and it makes me happy bringing out my vintage ornaments, handpicked from my trips overseas throughout the years.

I would describe my tree’s aesthetic this year as traditional with a bit of humour, like the classic vintage tree from the Seventies, classic holiday colours and a touch of handmade magic with mercury ornaments from John Derian, Pier 1 and holiday shops in the US mixed with berries and fruits and icicles. It’s a mix of everything, a beautiful homage to the past, coupled with an appreciation for the new.

Thank you and .at 🥰🎄

"Christmas is a lot about childhood, even when you decorate on a formal scale. There is so much nostalgia behind it, and that's got to be the headliner of Christmas." - Matthew Bees

I know it's early but not when you live in the Philippines. Topped it off with a khaki velvet ribbon - nothing fancy, just mercury glass ornaments collected through the years from my travels, some faux berries, peaches, oranges and glass icycles for that extra sparkle.
