“What happened?”

Before we will take any action, if any, we will first assess the situation and scrutinize the process. We will check if everything was done legally.

Our City Mayor Khymer Olaso, will soon call for a meeting with DENR, Protected Area Management Board (PAMB), and other agencies. We will also call for a public hearing, if legislation is necessary.

As the main author of the ‘11 Islands Ordinance’, we will ensure that the vision we have for the islands to be an eco-cultural tourism destination will remain, whether the owners of the property are public or private entities.

PS. There is nothing wrong if a private individual/group purchased a parcel of land from 11 islands if done legally. But they have to cooperate and respect our vision to protect and preserve the natural beauty of the islands.

On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, we convened at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall for the Twenty-First Regular Session. Our plenary debates remain highly focused on passing responsive measures that protect our families, strengthen our institutions, and drive local development.

• Advancing Key Ordinances: We actively took the floor to push forward pending legislation, ensuring that our local laws are precise, impactful, and directly address the needs of our communities.
• Buhay at Gawa Advocacy: Every floor deliberation is where our legislative "Gawa" (work) is refined, with the singular goal of ensuring it uplifts the daily "Buhay" (life) and welfare of our fellow Zamboangueños.
• Rigorous & Transparent Debate: True public service means looking closely at every single clause, asking the hard questions, and ensuring complete accountability before any policy becomes local law.
• Buen Gobierno Framework: Our commitment to visible, grounded, and active leadership means ensuring your voice is strongly represented during every single council session.
