π± Nurturing Resilience: Promoting Mental Wellness Caravan π±
The Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), in collaboration with the Health Education and Promotion Office (HEPO) and the Reproductive Health and Wellness Center (RHWC) of Zamboanga City, successfully conducted the βNurturing Resilience: Promoting Mental Wellness Caravanβ among junior and senior high school students.
The caravan brought meaningful discussions and activities to the students of Maria Clara Lorenzo Lobregat National High School, Zamboanga National High School West, Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School, and Talon-Talon National High School.
The activity aimed to provide young people with relevant knowledge and meaningful conversations on topics that greatly affect their health, well-being, and everyday lives. The topics discussed included SOGIE 101, HIV/STI Awareness, Teenage Pregnancy, and, most importantly, Mental Health and Wellness. π§ π€
What made the activity even more meaningful was the active participation and enthusiasm of the students. They openly engaged in discussions, raised questions, shared their thoughts, and participated in the different activities prepared for them. Their willingness to learn and speak about these important concerns showed the importance of creating safe spaces where young people can be heard, understood, and supported.
Through this caravan, we hope to continue empowering the youth with the knowledge, confidence, and resilience they need to make informed choices, build healthy relationships, take care of their well-being, and face life's challenges.
- Because nurturing the youth means nurturing a healthier and more resilient community.
