Fisheries field staff been working tirelessly, conducting successful raids across the district to combat illegal fishing using generators. This harmful practice not only depletes our fish populations but also damages the aquatic ecosystem.

The Fisheries field staff effectively countered the use of illegal fishing methods involving generators. Through regular patrols and enforcement actions, they have successfully dismantled multiple generator based fishing activities thereby protecting vital fish stocks and their habitats from electrofishing damage.

It is illegal to catch fish using any such net that has not been duly licensed by the Fisheries Department.
