A comprehensive seminar was arranged by the Institute of Geology, AJK University, Muzaffarabad at G.P.G.C. No.1 Abbottabad. The focal person, Dr. Farooq, Associate Professor, delivered an insightful lecture focusing on the importance, scope, and career opportunities in geology within today’s modern world. These key themes were discussed at length during the session. The seminar was highly interactive, allowing intermediate-level students from GPGC No.1 Abbottabad to ask questions at the end. The event was facilitated at the college level by Mr. Nadir Javed, Lecturer in the Department of English. It was also supported by CBS President Muhammad Tayyab, CBS General Secretary Hammad, and Stage Secretary Bakhtawar Mohmand.

We are delighted to share that four former students of the Department of Chemistry, Government Postgraduate College No. 1, Abbottabad Usama Afsar, Usama Shabbir Ahmad, Adeel Atiq and Abdul Wahab Khan have been recommended for the post of Lecturer in Chemistry (BS-17) through the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC).

Usama Afsar and Usama Shabbir Ahmad completed their BS Chemistry from the Department of Chemistry, Government Postgraduate College No. 1, Abbottabad, during the session Fall 2017 – Spring 2021. Adeel Atiq completed his BS Chemistry from Department of Chemistry Government Postgraduate College No 1 Abbottabad during the session Fall 2014- Spring 2018 . Abdul Wahab Khan completed his MSc. Chemistry from the Department of Chemistry, Government Postgraduate College No. 1, Abbottabad, during the session 2017–2019.

This is a moment of great pride and honor for Government Postgraduate College No. 1, Abbottabad, especially for the Department of Chemistry. It also reflects the dedication and hard work of their teachers and the unwavering support of their parents.

Many congratulations to the students, their parents, and their teachers on this well-deserved achievement.

At Government Post Graduate College No. 1, an EOTO orientation session was successfully conducted today for BS senior students. The event was also attended by the Vice Principal and EOTO Focal Person, Prof. Dr. Faiz Alam.

The orientation sessions were conducted by Muhammad Ramzan and Waheed Alvi. Two separate sessions were arranged — one for female BS students and another for male BS students.

More than 200 female students and over 50 male students actively participated in the sessions with great enthusiasm. The orientation aimed to create awareness and provide guidance regarding the EOTO initiative among university students.

Congratulations to the faculty members and brilliant students of the Department of Chemistry on the successful publication of their research paper in the prestigious journal "Environmental Science and Pollution Research" with an impact Factor of 5.8.

The paper titled “Adsorptive removal of methylene blue from wastewater using sawdust of Cedrus deodara and its composite with iron oxide nanoparticles: a comparative study” is an outstanding contribution towards environmental sustainability and wastewater treatment research.

Heartfelt congratulations to the authors Prof. Muhammad Shakeel, Prof. Shahid Ali, and our talented students Muhammad Waseem, Bisma Liaqat, Mahnoor Aurangzeb, Aina Noor, Saira Bibi, and Uzma Iqbal on this remarkable achievement.

Another proud moment for Government Postgraduate College No. 1 Abbottabad. Mr. Hamza Abbasi, son of Muhammad Zahoor, an alumnus of BS Botany (Session 2017–2021), has successfully qualified the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission examination for the position of Lecturer in Botany (BPS-17).
