A meeting of the Deans’ Committee of Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CUVAS), Bahawalpur, was held under the chairmanship of the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tariq Javed. During the meeting, a comprehensive review of various agenda items related to the academic, administrative, and infrastructural development of the University was undertaken. Special emphasis was placed on addressing students’ issues and ensuring their timely resolution through an efficient and student-friendly administrative system. The Committee also reviewed preparations for the Fall 2026 Admission Campaign and discussed strategies to make the campaign more effective, dynamic, and far-reaching. The Vice Chancellor stressed the importance of highlighting the University's academic strengths, modern facilities, and career-oriented programs to attract talented students from across the country.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tariq Javed emphasized student welfare as the University's top priority, directing all academic and administrative offices to ensure efficient student facilitation while reviewing plans for the provision of missing facilities and improvement of campus services. The Committee also discussed the University's solarization initiative as part of CUVAS's commitment to sustainability, quality enhancement, and continuous institutional development

On the first day of Eid-ul-Adha, the Vice Chancellor of Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tariq Javed, called on former Governor of Punjab Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman and exchanged Eid greetings.

During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor briefed him on the university’s academic, research, and developmental initiatives. Former Governor Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman appreciated the services and progress of the university, acknowledging its significant role in the region and expressing his continued support for the institution’s growth and success.

CUVAS Celebrated 75th Anniversary of Pakistan-China Friendship
Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences celebrated the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China friendship in a dignified and enthusiastic ceremony held today at 11:30 a.m. The event was attended by Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tariq Javed, Dean Faculty of Biosciences Dr. Abdul Ghaffar, and respectable faculty members of the university.
While addressing the participants, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tariq Javed highlighted the historical and everlasting friendship between Pakistan and China and described it as a shining example of mutual trust, cooperation, and sincerity. He stated that both countries had always stood by each other during challenging times and had achieved remarkable progress in defence, education, research, science, technology, and economic development through strong bilateral collaboration. He further emphasized that future cooperation between the two nations, particularly in academic and research fields, would continue to open new avenues of progress and development.
During his keynote address, the Vice Chancellor also spoke about the significance of truthfulness, honesty, and integrity in life. Quoting references from the Holy Quran and Sunnah, he said that truth always led a person towards dignity, peace, and success. He motivated faculty members by sharing that honesty and commitment to truth had been among the major reasons behind his personal and professional achievements and had helped him attain his current position. He encouraged the youth to uphold truth and sincerity in every sphere of life, adding that truthful people were always rewarded with respect and success. The participants highly appreciated the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China and termed it a symbol of peace, progress, and mutual respect. The ceremony concluded with prayers for the continued prosperity of both countries and the strengthening of Pak-China relations in the years ahead.
The ceremony was concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony commemorating the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China friendship. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tariq Javed, Dr. Abdul Ghaffar, and faculty members participated in the celebration and expressed their goodwill for stronger Pak-China relations.

Bahawalpur: The 13th Syndicate Meeting of Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences was successfully held under the chairmanship of the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Tariq Javed. The meeting reflected strong commitment of the university toward academic excellence, institutional development, research advancement, and strategic future planning.
The meeting was physically attended by notable syndicate members and eminent personalities including Mr. Ali Usman Bukhari, Nominee of Secretary Government of Punjab; Mr. Qaiser Javed, Former Director, Soil Salinity Research Institute, Pindi Bhattian; Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khalid Mansoor, Dean Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur; and Mr. Khalid Mehmood Jajja, Member Provincial Assembly (PP-247).. Representing the university in the meeting were Prof. Dr. Faiz ul Hassan, Associate Prof. Dr. Qudrat Ullah, Assistant Prof. Dr. Hamid Majeed, and Lecturer Sajid.
The meeting was further joined online by renowned vice chancellors and senior academic leaders including Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani, Vice Chancellor, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore; Prof. Dr. Asif Ali, Vice Chancellor, Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture Multan; and Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, Vice Chancellor, Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur along with senior government officials including a Deputy Secretary and other esteemed members. During the session, important matters related to academic progress, administrative affairs, infrastructure development, financial planning, quality enhancement, and research initiatives were discussed comprehensively. The honorable participants shared valuable recommendations and constructive suggestions aimed at strengthening the university’s academic and research environment and promoting excellence in veterinary and allied sciences.
The syndicate members appreciated the visionary leadership and progressive initiatives of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tariq Javed, for steering the university towards institutional growth and development. The meeting concluded with productive deliberations and a collective resolve to further elevate the standards of higher education and research at CUVAS.
