گلگت: ڈرگ اینڈ واٹر/فوڈ ٹیسٹنگ لیبارٹری گلگت بلتستان (DWF TL GB) کی رپورٹ کی روشنی میں ڈسٹرکٹ ایڈمنسٹریشن نے مختلف اقسام کی غیر معیاری اور مضرِ صحت اشیائے خوردونوش پر پابندی عائد کر دی ہے۔ یہ اقدام عوامی صحت کے تحفظ اور معیاری خوراک کی فراہمی کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے اٹھایا گیا ہے۔
رپورٹ میں بعض اشیاء کے نمونہ جات مقررہ معیار پر پورا نہ اترنے کی نشاندہی کی گئی تھی، جس پر فوری کارروائی کرتے ہوئے ضلعی انتظامیہ نے متعلقہ اشیاء کی فروخت اور ترسیل روک دی۔ اس کے ساتھ ساتھ متعلقہ دکانداروں اور سپلائرز کو وارننگ جاری کی گئی ہے اور مزید قانونی کارروائی بھی عمل میں لائی جا رہی ہے۔
DWFTL GB گلگت بلتستان میں خوراک کے معیار کی جانچ کے ساتھ ساتھ اس کی بہتری کے لیے بھی بھرپور اقدامات کر رہی ہے۔ لیبارٹری کی ٹیکنیکل ٹیم جدید سائنسی طریقہ کار کے تحت اشیائے خوردونوش کے نمونہ جات کی باقاعدہ ٹیسٹنگ کر رہی ہے تاکہ عوام کو محفوظ اور معیاری خوراک کی فراہمی یقینی بنائی جا سکے۔
ڈسٹرکٹ ایڈمنسٹریشن اور ڈی ڈبلیو ایف ایل ٹی ایل جی بی کے مابین قریبی تعاون جاری ہے، اور دونوں ادارے مل کر غیر معیاری اشیاء کے خلاف مؤثر کارروائی کو یقینی بنا رہے ہیں۔ حکام کا کہنا ہے کہ عوامی صحت پر کوئی سمجھوتہ نہیں کیا جائے گا اور مستقبل میں بھی اس قسم کی کارروائیاں جاری رہیں گی۔
عوام سے بھی اپیل کی گئی ہے کہ وہ غیر معیاری اشیاء کی نشاندہی کریں اور انتظامیہ کے ساتھ تعاون کریں تاکہ صحت مند معاشرے کی تشکیل ممکن بنائی جا سکے۔

حکومت گلگت بلتستان کے عوامی مفاد پر مبنی اقدامات کے تسلسل میں قائم کردہ ڈرگ، واٹر اینڈ فوڈ ٹیسٹنگ لیبارٹری نے قلیل مدت میں مؤثر کارکردگی کا مظاہرہ کرتے ہوئے صوبہ گلگت بلتستان میں ادویات، خوراک اور پانی کے معیار کی جانچ کے نظام کو مضبوط بنایا ہے۔
لیبارٹری کے قیام سے قبل ادویات، فوڈ آئٹمز اور واٹر سیمپلز کی تجزیاتی جانچ کے لیے نمونہ جات صوبے سے باہر ارسال کیے جاتے تھے، جس کے نتیجے میں رپورٹ کے اجراء میں تاخیر اور سرکاری وسائل پر اضافی بوجھ پڑتا تھا۔ موجودہ لیبارٹری کے فعال ہونے کے بعد اب مذکورہ تمام سیمپلز کی ٹیسٹنگ مقامی سطح پر بروقت اور مستند طریقہ کار کے تحت انجام دی جا رہی ہے، جس سے نہ صرف وقت کی بچت ہوئی ہے بلکہ ریگولیٹری عمل میں بھی نمایاں بہتری آئی ہے۔
اس ضمن میں Secretary Health جناب آصف اللہ خان کے منصب سنبھالنے کے بعد لیبارٹری کی کارکردگی میں نمایاں بہتری دیکھنے میں آئی ہے۔ ان کی خصوصی توجہ، مؤثر قیادت اور ادارہ جاتی اصلاحات کے باعث لیبارٹری نے آئی ایس او کوالٹی مینجمنٹ سسٹم کا سرٹیفکیشن حاصل کیا ہے۔ مزید برآں، لیبارٹری اس وقت ISO 17025 کے بین الاقوامی معیار کے حصول کے لیے عملی اقدامات کر رہی ہے اور ان شاء اللہ آئندہ چند ماہ میں مذکورہ معیار بھی حاصل کر لیا جائے گا، جس سے ادارے کی ساکھ اور فنی استعداد میں مزید اضافہ ہوگا۔
مزید برآں، گزشتہ دو ماہ کے دوران لیبارٹری کی جانب سے آن اسپاٹ ٹیسٹنگ سروس کا اجراء عمل میں لایا گیا ہے، جس کے تحت فیلڈ میں فوری جانچ کی سہولت فراہم کی جا رہی ہے۔ اس اقدام سے مارکیٹ میں دستیاب اشیائے خوردونوش، ادویات اور پانی کے معیار کی مؤثر نگرانی ممکن ہوئی ہے اور غیر معیاری و مضر صحت اشیاء کے خلاف بروقت کارروائی میں تیزی آئی ہے۔
لیبارٹری کی فعالیت کے نتیجے میں عوامی صحت کے تحفظ، مارکیٹ ریگولیشن اور معیار کی پاسداری کے نظام کو تقویت ملی ہے، جبکہ عوامی اعتماد میں بھی اضافہ دیکھنے میں آیا ہے۔
حکومتی سطح پر اگر اس ادارے کی تکنیکی استعداد کار میں مزید اضافہ، جدید آلات کی فراہمی، پیشہ ورانہ تربیت اور مالی وسائل کی مضبوط فراہمی کو یقینی بنایا جائے تو یہ لیبارٹری مستقبل میں ایک مستند اور خودمختار ریفرنس ادارے کی حیثیت اختیار کر سکتی ہے۔
ڈرگ، واٹر اینڈ فوڈ ٹیسٹنگ لیبارٹری کا قیام صوبے میں معیاری نظام کے فروغ اور عوامی مفاد کے تحفظ کی جانب ایک اہم پیش رفت تصور کیا جا رہا ہے.

The Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC) audit at the Drug, Water & Food Testing Laboratory, Gilgit, has been successfully completed today. This achievement is particularly noteworthy as it positions the laboratory as the first such facility in Gilgit-Baltistan and only the second in Pakistan in Drugs testing after those in Punjab, to undergo this rigorous PNAC evaluation, marking a significant advancement in quality assurance and accreditation for drug, water, and food testing in the region. This reflects consistent progress toward strengthened accreditation standards and enhanced public health safeguards.

Islamabad, September 22-24, 2025: The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) convened its 351st meeting of the Registration Board at the Prime Minister’s National Health Complex, focusing on the evaluation and approval of new drug registrations, quality assessments, and regulatory compliance for pharmaceutical products. Attended by key stakeholders including representatives from provincial drug testing labs like the Drug, Water & Food Testing Laboratory in Gilgit-Baltistan, the three-day session addressed critical issues in drug quality control and public health safety. Dr. Junaid Akhtar from Gilgit-Baltistan participated as a designated expert, contributing to discussions on substandard and falsified medicines. This routine yet vital gathering underscores DRAP's ongoing efforts to ensure safe medicines for the Pakistani public, amid recent alerts on substandard drugs issued in September, 2025
