Pakistan does not need a new system. Pakistan needs reforms to address those in executive departments and public bodies who behave as though they are the “gods” of the seats entrusted to them, whether by the people or through appointment.
There should be reforms that help people understand how the system should work. Instead, a young person in Pakistan is taught that they can benefit from the system only if they know someone within it—one of these so-called “gods.” Depending on the circumstances, that person could be a clerk, a Grade 1 employee, or even the prime minister.
So, how do we get rid of this culture? By introducing a municipality—or belediye—system? A governor system? A presidential system?
As reflected in Falah’s slogan, our focus should be on the people being appointed, rather than simply restructuring the executive. We have seen the same faces in politics and executive bodies for the past 45 years. Their thinking has been shaped by what they have learned and practised throughout those years. Their minds are deeply rooted in this culture, and changing that mindset is difficult.
The Quran describes the condition of being closed to truth:
إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا فِىٓ أَعْنَـٰقِهِمْ أَغْلَـٰلًۭا فَهِىَ إِلَى ٱلْأَذْقَانِ فَهُم مُّقْمَحُونَ
“[It is as if] We have put shackles around their necks up to their chins, so their heads are forced up,”
“and have placed a barrier before them and a barrier behind them and covered them [all] up, so they fail to see [the truth].”
— Surah Ya-Sin, verses 8–9
We listen to reporters and adopt their ideas, although their role is to provide information. The responsibility for finding and implementing solutions remains with those who seek to lead.
Pakistan needs a new, energetic force—not the sons, children, or relatives of existing politicians, bureaucrats, generals, or members of the judiciary. It needs people who can rise independently, without being sponsored or supported by these same circles of power, and bring new leadership to Pakistan.
It is a long road, but we can begin with the first step. Falah has already taken that step with this vision, and with the wider ambition of working towards a world free from evil, oppression, and the injustices committed in the name of Zionism.
