A delegation from Gilgit Baltistan comprising the additional secretary Finance ,Deputy secretary Local Government & Rural Development (LG&RD), and Manager Gilgit-Baltistan Waste Management Company (GBWMC) today visited the Head Office of the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC). The objective of the visit is to identify the venues of revenue and effective revenue collection meachism adopted by the Waste management companies in Punjab The delegation met with the Chief Executive Officer of RWMC to discuss the expansion of waste management operations across the Rawalpindi Division and to review the procedures adopted for effective monitoring of operations.
During the visit, senior management of RWMC gave a comprehensive briefing on the company’s organizational structure, operational framework, and performance monitoring mechanisms. Special emphasis was placed on RWMC’s revenue collection system, including its successfully developed billing section and digital application for the registration of household and commercial entities.
The delegation expressed keen interest in RWMC’s revenue management model. In this regard, the delegation requested RWMC’s for technical support and assistance to GBWMC for establishing a dedicated billing section and developing a customized application for the registration of revenue-generating entities in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The visit marked an important step toward inter-institutional collaboration and knowledge sharing aimed at strengthening waste management services and improving revenue collection systems in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The National Bank of Pakistan and the Gilgit Baltistan Waste Management compnay have signed an agreement regarding the mini Cashless Economy. Under the agreement, all financial transactions will now be carried out completely online. This initiative will not only make transactions timely and transparent but will also help in transforming the system into a paperless model. As a result, it will promote environmentally friendly activities.
