Regional Tax Office Gujranwala:
Destruction of Non-Duty/Tax Paid Ci******es Worth Millions

On 09.04.2026, the Enforcement Network Team of the Regional Tax Office (RTO) Gujranwala carried out a major operation against illegal ci******es, destroying the stocks seized over the past eight months. A total of 1,568 cartons of local and smuggled illegal ci******es were destroyed, with a market value exceeding PKR 180 Million The applicable duties and taxes on these ci******es amounted to over PKR 120 Million.
These ci******es were confiscated by the IREN Team Gujranwala during various operations. Large quantities were seized from multiple vehicles during road surveillance duties. Additionally, raids were conducted on retail and wholesale shops across the three districts of Gujranwala, Hafizabad, and Wazirabad—resulting in further confiscations.
The destruction ceremony was attended by Chief Commissioner Muhammad Khalid Jamil as the chief guest. Commissioners Ali Adnan Khan and Muhammad Waqas Hanif were also present, along with Additional Commissioners Riffat Aziz and Faiza Bashir. Assistant Commissioners Ghulam Noor Jehanian and Rana Arman Iqbal Khan, Audit Officer Akhtar Mahmood, Senior Editor Javed Iqbal, and members of the IREN Team also participated in the event.

RTO Gujranwala Holds Tax Awareness Session with Tax Bar Association.

The Regional Tax Office (RTO) Gujranwala organized a collaborative awareness session with the Tax Bar Association as part of its ongoing Tax Awareness Week initiatives. Riffat Aziz, along with President GTBA Mr. Imran Ali, General Secretary GTBA Mr. Asif Janjua, Ex-President GTBA, Patron-in-chief Mr. Mian Muhammad Ghaffar, Mr. Ex-President GTBA Tabarrak Hussain, and other members of the Gujranwala Tax Bar Association (GTBA).
During the session, the officers highlighted the importance of building a documented economy and underscored the crucial role of tax practitioners in guiding taxpayers toward effective compliance. RTO Gujranwala Holds Interactive Session with Kamokee Textile Sector on Advance Tax and Sales Tax Compliance

The Regional Tax Office (RTO) Gujranwala organized an interactive awareness session with representatives of the Kamokee textile sector, focusing on the timely payment of Advance Tax and compliance with Sales Tax return filing requirements.

In continuation of efforts to promote a culture of tax compliance and economic documentation, Regional Tax Office, Gujranwala organized a Tax Awareness Session in collaboration with business community & Anjuman Tajran of Hafizabad.
