The Covid-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted children. More children are at risk of being forced into child labour, depriving them of their right to education, good health and healthy development. 2021 is the International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour and an opportunity to build on previous efforts and inspire new ones to accelerate action towards SDG 8.7.

International Women’s Day 2021 focuses on the struggles women have faced due to COVID-19 induced restrictions and how they’ve exercised their right to equal representation in leadership roles to secure an equal future for women and girls.

The Ministry of Human Rights in collaboration with the EU HeP undertook a sensitisation workshop for ICT Police to educate them about best practices when engaging with the transgender community, and thereby ensure the effective implementation of Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act. Posters were designed to enhance awareness about best practices and disseminated across 20 police stations in ICT.

The event marked the celebration of the International Day of Girl Child celebrated globally on October 11th with the aim of highlighting and addressing the needs and challenges faced by girls in the journey towards an enabling environment for the fulfilment of their rights.

Ministry of Human Rights Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse 'Not Only Strangers' #protectourchildren Ministry of Human Rights Campaign for ‘Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse’

In July 2019, the Ministry of Human Rights in collaboration with EU HeP (Huqooq e Pakistan) developed and disseminated awareness raising posters and 1300 pole signs (in the Federal) to educate people about all forms of child abuse as part of the "Protecting Our Children: Preventing Child Sexual Abuse in Pakistan" campaign.
