Light of Hope NUML

After multiple visits to the Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB), the head of solar Mr. Sheraz Anwar Khan was kind enough to have a conversation with us about our ongoing project.
He asked about all the details and we a gave a brief presentation on the aim and working of the project. We briefed him about the data we collected and explained our course of action.
He was impressed and appreciated our efforts and promised us his full support.
He was an inspiration.

Today team light of hope
visited the slum areas of Islamabad to
gather the demographic data and to identify the power need required in the slums.
We calculated the number of people and
household and estimated the cost of
installation and the implementation of the
solar solution.

This specific slum is located on the IJP and
Double road junction in islamabad with
around 25 huts and with a population of over
60 to 80 people.

Team light of hope went to the head office of Pakistan Council for Renewable Energy and Technology (PCRET) regarding the feasibility and development of the project. It was a very important step in the progress of the project.

Mr Iqbal Hussain, Director and Head of Electrical Engineering, provided us with deep insight about the production and quality of solar panels in the market which will help us to make the best choice when we will approach the market.

Overall it was an educational experience.

Yesterday team light of hope went to the markets to search for solar panels and to have an idea about the buying and running cost of solar panels.
The team also conducted a small interview with the shop vendors so that we can have a better understanding of the market and we could use the maximum of the potential.
It was a good session as we got to find out the nature and functioning of the market.

It was an interactive session explaining the aims and targets of our project under the supervision of Dr. Athar Rasheed.
