📂✨ Day 2 Highlights – PEC Re-Accreditation Visit (April 10, 2026 from 0900hrs to 1600hrs)

A day focused on documentation, evidence verification, and detailed review for the BS EE & BS EEE programs at COMSATS University Islamabad (Islamabad Campus).

📑 From CLO-PLO mappings to lab reports and course files, the visit emphasized thorough evaluation and compliance with Pakistan Engineering Council standards.
🎯 Our organized documentation and structured reporting reflected strong alignment with OBE practices.

👏 Appreciating the meticulous efforts of faculty, program teams, and administrative staff in compiling and presenting comprehensive evidence.

Sharing glimpses from Day 1 of the PEC re-accreditation visit for the BS Electrical Engineering (EE) and BS Electrical Engineering with specialization in Electronics (EEE) programs at the Department of Electrical Engineering, COMSATS University Islamabad (Islamabad Campus).

The visit commenced with a comprehensive central presentation by the Campus Incharge, Prof. Dr. Sohail Asghar, setting a strong and positive first impression. The visiting team demonstrated a thorough and meticulous approach in evaluating compliance with Pakistan Engineering Council standards. We are pleased that our preparations and well-established compliance SOPs aligned effectively with these requirements, reflecting our continuous commitment to enhancing academic quality.

Our readiness and compliance were significantly strengthened through the valuable guidance and insights of Prof. Dr. Shahid Khattak (Dean, Faculty of Engineering), Prof. Dr. Junaid Mughal, and Prof. Dr. Shurjeel Wyne (Chairperson, EE). The effective implementation of these directions was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Dr. Syed Riaz Hussain (Head, EE), Dr. Khurram Saleem Alimgeer (Sr. Incharge UG Programs), Dr. Azhar Yasin (Incharge EEE Program), and Dr. Awais Javed (Incharge EE Program), along with the conveners of departmental committees and the collective contributions of faculty, administrative staff, and support staff of the department.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Convener of the PEC delegation, all Program Evaluators (PEVs), observers, and members from Pakistan Engineering Council for their valuable time, insightful feedback, and professional engagement.

3rd Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) Meeting – Department of Electrical Engineering | Spring 2026

The 3rd Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) Meeting of the Department of Electrical Engineering was successfully conducted on Thursday, 12th February 2026.

We were honored by the gracious presence of Prof. Dr. Junaid Mughal and Prof. Dr. Shurjeel Wyne (Chairperson EE) for their leadership, mentorship, and strategic guidance throughout the session.

This meeting was particularly significant due to the insightful feedback and industry-driven recommendations shared by our esteemed external members:

• Engr. Dr. Farrukh Kamran – CTO, SkyElectric Pvt. Ltd.
• Mr. Mansoor Qadir – Head Regulatory Operations, Jazz

The Department of Electrical Engineering organized an industrial visit to NRTC, Haripur on 25th November 2025 under the Industrial Visitation Committee, led by Dr. Laeeq Riaz, with Dr. Haider Ali and Dr. Noman Ahmed as committee members.

The visit provided students with valuable exposure to telecommunication systems, electronics manufacturing, and industrial practices, reinforcing practical learning and strengthening industry–academia collaboration.

The Department of Electrical Engineering organized an industrial visit to the PTCL Network Operations Center (NOC) on 20th November 2025 under the Industrial Visitation Committee, led by Dr. Laeeq Riaz, with Dr. Haider Ali and Dr. Noman Ahmed as committee members.

The visit provided students with practical exposure to real-time network monitoring, telecom operations, and large-scale communication infrastructure, strengthening the link between academic learning and industry practices.
