worst example of genocide and ethnic cleansing: DFP

Srinagar: While paying eulogizing tributes to martyrs of Jammu, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has said that the massacre of Muslims in Jammu in 1947 at the hands of Hindu fanatics was the most horrible incident of Kashmir that continues to haunt Kashmiris despite the passage seventy-seven years.

In a statement issued here today the DFP spokesman advocate Arshad Iqbal said, “Hindu extremist aided and abetted by Dogra Maharaja wiped out the entire Muslim population of the entire province with a mala-fide intent to alter demography of the region”.

Terming it as a worst example of genocide and ethnic cleansing Iqbal said that during the intervening period of time (27 Oct 1947 to 6 Nov 1947) thousands of Muslims were massacred in Jammu region by mobs led by the extremist Hindus, whereas tens of thousands of hapless families were forced to flee and take refuge in newly formed state of Pakistan.

He said that chronology of key events of Kashmir history amply demonstrate the fact that changing demographic complexion of Muslim majority state of Jammu and Kashmir had always been on the cards from day one.

The Muslims, he said, constituted more than 60 percent of the population of Jammu region, were reduced to a minority after killing more than two lakh (two hundred thousands) Muslims.

He said that stripping Jammu and Kashmir of its decades’ old special status and doing away with article 35-A was part of this sinister design to convert Muslim majority of the state into minority.

Expressing his serious concern over the continued bloodshed and violence in Kashmir, the DFP spokesman said that it was high time that the world community should take effective notice of human rights violations and killing of innocent Kashmiris especially the youth who were being ruthlessly murdered by the occupation forces.

DFP terms 27 October as darkest day in Kashmir's contemporary history

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), while terming 27 October as the darkest day in Kashmir's contemporary history, has said that the invasion of Kashmir by India on the day in 1947 was a naked aggression devoid of any legal or moral justification.

While referring to devastating impacts of the illegal occupation, the DFP spokesman advocate Arshad Iqbal said that India’s prolonged military occupation over the territory poses an existential threat to Kashmiris who have been reeling under India's brutal repression for the past several decades.

Terming Indian invasion as an atrocious attack on the political and democratic rights of millions of Kashmiris he said on this fateful day the so-called democratic state had brazenly violated the international law by usurping the fundamental rights of millions of Kashmiris.

Recalling Kashmiris’ historic resistance against the Indian occupation he said, “Despite suffering at the hands of Indian tyrants the valiant people of Kashmir have never accepted its dominance over the region”.

“Kashmiris have neither accepted the hegemony of the Indian state in the past nor will they accept it in the future”, the DFP spokesman said adding that day was not far when Kashmiris’ struggle and their sacrifices for the noble cause would reach to fruition.

About the Modi government’s unlawful actions it had taken on Kashmir since 5th August 2019, he said Kashmiris have fairly and squarely rejected the move and there were no takers in Kashmir of what the BJP has been remorselessly projecting to deceive the international community.

He said any piece of legislation made by the Indian parliament cannot supersede the UN resolutions, which clearly state that no country can change the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir unilaterally.

Urging the world community to play its proactive role to end India’s prolonged military occupation he said that the world needs to realize the devastating impacts of the decades long illegal occupation of India on Kashmir and play its part to help resolve this lingering dispute peacefully in line with the UNSC resolutions.

India urged to end intransigence & engage Pakistan to resolve

DFP felicitates Islamabad on successful hosting of summit
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), led by incarcerated senior Hurriyat leader Shabir Ahmad Shah, has congratulated Pakistan on the successful hosting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference and expressed optimism that this high-profile meeting would foster regional peace, development, and enhanced cooperation among member states.

According to Kashmir Media Service, DFP spokesperson Advocate Arshad Iqbal stated in a press release from Srinagar that the successful SCO summit, featuring the participation of the Prime Ministers of China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, represents a significant diplomatic milestone for Pakistan.

Iqbal expressed hope that Jaishankar’s participation could help ease tensions between Pakistan and India. He emphasized the necessity of reviving the dialogue process between the two nuclear neighbors to create an atmosphere of peace and stability.

Highlighting the need for sustainable dialogue to resolve the enduring Kashmir dispute, Iqbal noted that the SCO’s ambitious goals for ensuring peace and prosperity in the region would remain unattainable without a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute, in line with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

He asserted that it is high time for the Indian government to abandon its traditional intransigence, acknowledge the ground realities, and resume stalled dialogue with Pakistan to address all outstanding issues, particularly the Kashmir conflict that happens to be the mother of all disputes.

Iqbal emphasized that the people of Kashmir have consistently supported meaningful and result-oriented dialogue between the two countries. However, he maintained that any discussions that exclude the Kashmir issue would be a futile exercise.

DFP backs APHC's call for holding against priest's remarks after Friday prayers

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, while reiterating its support to APHC's call for peaceful protest on October 11, has urged the Kashmiri masses, civil society, religious scholars and leaders of all political parties to hold peaceful protest after Friday prayers as a mark of protest against the Hindu priest Yati Narsinghanand's blasphemous remarks against Prophet Mohammed (SAW).

In a statement issued here today, the DFP spokesman advocate Arshad Iqbal said that it was high time that the Kashmiri civil society in particular the religious scholars should come forward in a big way and take a unified stand on this important issue.

Terming the fanatic priest's derogatory speech as an atrocious assault to hurt the sentiments of the Muslims across the world, the DFP spokesman said that amidst the rising tides of Islamophobia and xenophobia Muslims have become increasingly unsafe in India.

Reiterating his party's call for holding peaceful protest after Friday prayers, Iqbal appealed leaders of all religious parties, scholars, and civil society organizations to stage a strong protest to express their resentment against this cowardly act and convey a strong message that such wicked acts won't be tolerated by the Muslims who hold the prophet SAW dearer to their lives.

DFP condemns remarks by a Hindu fanatic Yati Narsinghanand

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has strongly condemned the blasphemous remarks against Prophet (SAW) by a Hindu fanatic Yati Narsinghanand in Maharashtra state.

Terming Narsinghanand's objectionable remarks as a wicked attempt to hurt the sentiments of the Muslims, the DFP spokesman advocate Arshad Iqbal said that the derogatory speech reflects Islamophobia and growing hatred against the Muslims in the Indian society.

He said that the BJP-RSS nexus, which seeks to convert India into a formal Hindu state, has a history of stoking communal hatred to retain power.

While communal violence has gained traction in the Indian society, he said that the hate crimes and hate speeches against the country’s Muslim minority by members of the extremist Hindus occurred in greater frequency since Prime Minister Narendra Modi, leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), came to power in 2014.

These communal policies, he said, have brought Muslims to the brink of genocide in India and Kashmir.

The DFP spokesman, while urging Kashmiri Muslims to hold peaceful protest to express their resentment against this cowardly act, sought a stern action against the Narsinghanand and others who have been involved in this blasphemous act, which he said won't be tolerated by the Muslims who hold the prophet SAW dearer to their lives.

The spokesperson condemned the ongoing bloodshed and targeted killings of Kashmiri youths and urged the international community to take note of the grave situation and pressurize the Indian government to end the massacre of innocent civilians in the occupied territory.

Foreign Diplomats Should Not Fall for Indian Government's Deception Regarding the Situation in Occupied Kashmir: Democratic Freedom Party

Srinagar: In occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has urged foreign diplomats not to fall for the Indian government's claims that the situation in the region has returned to normal. This statement was issued on Wednesday, following India's invitation to foreign diplomats during the second phase of the sham elections, aimed at legitimizing its illegal occupation through an electoral spectacle.

DFP spokesperson Advocate Arshad Iqbal, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that the Indian government's move was an attempt to mislead the international community. He urged the occupying government to allow independent observers to assess the situation instead of organizing controlled tours. The spokesperson stated that the purpose of the elections was to divert Kashmiris' attention from their freedom struggle, adding that India has a history of using such tactics to distract from the real issue.

Iqbal reminded the diplomats of their countries' roles in the UN Security Council resolutions, which guarantee Kashmiris their right to self-determination. He emphasized that resolving the Kashmir issue is key to regional peace. Criticizing the electoral farce, Iqbal said that through so-called reforms and gerrymandering, Muslims had already been stripped of their powers before the process even began. He further added that the Indian government, which claims to be a democracy, has openly violated UN Security Council resolutions. He urged the visiting delegation to take an impartial view of the situation and avoid downplaying the gravity of the internationally recognized dispute.
