Today is Remembrance Day.
Each year on 04 May, the Netherlands honors the Dutch victims of the Second World War as well as all who have been killed in any other war situation since then.
Marking the 81 years that have passed since the end of the Second World War, today, we reflect and thank our liberators for their courage and the sacrifices they have made, which has paved the way for the freedom we cherish today.
As part of Remembrance Day on 4 May, the Netherlands observes a moment of silence to commemorate and remember. Everyone is free to commemorate in the way they teel fit.
