๐Ÿ”ดICTO Enforcement Action Against POS Non-Compliant Restaurants in Islamabad๐Ÿ”ด

Islamabad โ€” An enforcement team led by Deputy Commissioner Alishpa Asif conducted an enforcement activity against business premises found non-compliant with the Point of Sale (POS) system.

Despite extreme weather conditions and heavy rainfall, the team remained steadfast in the discharge of its official duties. Demonstrating a high level of commitment and professionalism, the ICTO team carried out enforcement proceedings and sealed three (03) restaurants on account of violations of POS rules.

This action reflects the Federal Board of Revenueโ€™s continued resolve to ensure compliance with tax laws and promote transparency in business transactions. RTO Islamabad remains committed to taking strict action against non-compliant businesses and will continue its enforcement operations without interruption.

Islamabad: On the directions of the Chief Commissioner, Ms. Aisha Farooq, and the Commissioner, Mr. Abdul Razaq, the Inland Revenue Enforcement Network (IREN) Squad of RTO Islamabad carried out enforcement operations in F-10 and F-11 Markaz. The operation was led by Assistant Commissioner Inland Revenue, Mr. Muhammad Osama Abbasi.

During the inspections, the squad successfully seized 180 gurz of illicit ci******es, in violation of applicable tax laws.

In a separate action, an amount of Rs. 1,220,479/- was recovered from a detained vehicle loaded with auto spare parts. The goods were found without printed Maximum Retail Price (MRP) and were intended for distribution, constituting a breach of regulatory requirements.

RTO Islamabad remains steadfast in its commitment to enforce tax laws rigorously, curb tax evasion, and ensure compliance with the provisions of the Federal Excise Act, 2005 and the Sales Tax Act, 1990.

Islamabad โ€” On the directions of the Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Ms. Aisha Farooq, and Commissioner Inland Revenue, Mr. Abdul Razaq, the 3rd Schedule Squad of RTO Islamabad, under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Osama Abbasi, conducted an enforcement operation at Choungi No. 26, GT Road, Islamabad.

During the operation, five vehicles were intercepted carrying goods including tiles, engine oil, perfumes, paints, and cosmetics. Upon inspection, all items were found without printed Maximum Retail Price (MRP), in clear violation of the provisions of the Sales Tax Act, 1990.

Necessary legal proceedings have been initiated against the responsible parties in accordance with the law.

Islamabad โ€” On the directions of the Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Aisha Farooq, and the Commissioner Inland Revenue, Abdul Razaq, the 3rd Schedule Squad of RTO Islamabad conducted an enforcement operation at Choungi No. 26, Islamabad.

The operation was led by Assistant Commissioner Inland Revenue, Muhammad Osama Abbasi, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with tax laws.

During the operation, two vehicles were intercepted. One vehicle was found loaded with fruit juices, while the other was carrying air coolers. Both consignments were found to be in violation of the provisions of the Sales Tax Act due to the absence of printed Maximum Retail Price (MRP).

As a result of the enforcement action, an amount of Rs. 1,001,775/- was recovered from the concerned taxpayers in the form of tax through Computerized Payment Receipts (CPR).

Islamabad โ€” In continuation of its ongoing enforcement drive, the 3rd Schedule Squad of Regional Tax Office (RTO) Islamabad carried out a targeted operation at Choungi No. 26, resulting in the interception of five vehicles transporting goods in violation of tax regulations.

During the operation, two vehicles were found loaded with fruit juices, one vehicle carrying auto spare parts, another transporting tube lights and bulbs, and one truck loaded with LED items. All the goods were found to be without printed Maximum Retail Price (MRP), in clear contravention of the applicable provisions of the Sales Tax Act, 1990.

Necessary legal action has been initiated against the violators in accordance with the law. The seized goods are being processed as per prescribed procedures to ensure compliance.

RTO Islamabad reiterates its commitment to enforcing tax laws and ensuring that all businesses adhere to mandatory requirements, including proper labeling and documentation. Such actions are essential to curb tax evasion, promote fair market practices, and protect consumer rights.

Islamabad: A meeting was held at the Regional Tax Office (RTO) Islamabad under the chairpersonship of Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue Aisha Farooq with representatives of the jewelersโ€™ community to discuss issues relating to tax compliance, particularly concerning businesses operating in Jinnah Super Market.

The meeting was also attended by Commissioner Inland Revenue North Maria Sharif and Commissioner Inland Revenue South Rabia Yasir.

President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Sardar Tahir Mehmood also participated in the meeting along with representatives of various traders and jewelersโ€™ associations.

During the meeting, the participants apprised the RTO leadership of their concerns regarding the implementation of the 3% sales tax, integration with the Point of Sale (POS) system, and recent enforcement actions.

Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue Aisha Farooq assured the participants that RTO Islamabad is committed to facilitating the business community and ensuring a fair and transparent tax system. It was emphasized that no enforcement or sealing actions will be taken against businesses that are compliant with tax laws. However, it was clearly stated that strict enforcement, including sealing proceedings, will be initiated against those who fail to comply with the applicable regulations.

Both sides agreed to continue engagement for resolving issues and improving compliance in the larger economic interest of the country. It was also decided that focal persons from both sides would remain in contact to ensure effective coordination.

The meeting was attended by prominent representatives of the traders and jewelers community, including Ajmal Baloch, Abdul Qudoos, Rehan Javaid Rana, Naqash Sheerazi, Rehan Rabbani, and Faseeh Ullah Khan.

On the directions of the Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue (CCIR) Madam Aisha Farooq and the Commissioner Inland Revenue, ICTO Madam Uzma Munir, RTO Islamabad, an enforcement action was carried out by the DCIR Alishpa Asif against non-compliant restaurants for non-issuance of POS-integrated invoices.

During the operation, sealing proceedings were conducted under the relevant provisions of the Sales Tax Act, 1990 against four restaurants located in I-8, F-8, and F-6 sectors of Islamabad.

The action was taken due to failure to issue POS-integrated invoices, in violation of applicable tax laws. Further legal proceedings shall be carried out in accordance with the law to ensure compliance and safeguard government revenue.

Islamabad โ€” In continuation of its ongoing enforcement drive, the 3rd Schedule Squad of RTO Islamabad carried out a successful interception operation at T Chowk Rawat.

During the operation, three vehicles were intercepted. Two vehicles were found loaded with bottled water comprising 65 and 60 bottles respectively (each of 19 liters), while a third truck was carrying paint products without printed Maximum Retail Price (MRP), in violation of applicable laws.

The goods have been taken into custody for further legal proceedings under the relevant provisions of the Sales Tax Act, 1990 and allied laws. Necessary action is being initiated against the responsible parties.
