TSU-CRVS Sensitization and Capacity Building Workshop on Standardized Birth and Death Notification Forms and Medical Certification of Cause of Death

Islamabad, Pakistan - The Technical Support Unit-Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS), Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives organized a sensitization and capacity-building workshop on the " and and of of ." The workshop was held in collaboration with Vital Strategies (VS) and International Research Force (IRF) at the Islamabad Club.
The chairperson of the session was Project Director-CRVS, Ms. Irum Abid along with DHO-ICT Dr. Zaeem Zia as co-chair respectively. The main objective of the workshop was to provide a of the of , Medical Certification of Cause of Death ( ), and proper for determining and Causes of Death in .
Project Director-CRVS, Ms. Irum Abid, in her keynote address highlighted the importance of the , , and . She further mentioned that keeping in view the importance of the subject and existing disparities, the Birth and Death Notification Forms have been for the , which is based on an extensive -provincial consultative process and in turn endorsements received from Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination Islamabad & . CRVS reforms are under implementation at the level of Islamabad Capital Territory ( ) in collaboration with all relevant , she concluded.
Dr. Zaeem Zia in his address stated that the of the on , such as the of , the contributing factors, and the decedent’s background, has important and direct impacts on data, -making, and setting priorities in public health.

It is noted that the sensitization and capacity-building workshop is part of the ongoing efforts to improve the health sector and establish an effective and efficient CRVS system that accurately reflects vital events in the country.

The workshop was well attended by representatives from the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination Islamabad (M/oNHSRC), the Health Services Academy ( ), DHO Office, and major -care in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), both and . The workshop was facilitated by the IRF and a team of international experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
