Report PEMRA

Ms. Ambreen Jan has assumed the charge as Chairperson PEMRA. She has served as Federal Secretary for MoIB, MD PTV, DG PBC and Press Counselor in Bangladesh. At the occasion, she resolved to strengthen role of the Authority for development of media industry in Pakistan.

Executive Member PEMRA, Barrister Sikander R. Choudry, awarded District Level Cable TV licences to M/s Next Lodhran (Pvt.) Limited for District Lodhran, M/s Mansoorah Telecommunications (Pvt.) Limited for District Muzaffargarh and M/s Royal City Digital Cable Network (Pvt.) Limited for District Pakpattan.

The licences were received by CEOs Mr. Zain ul Abideen, Mr. Mohsin Rafiq and Mirza Muhammad Ijaz respectively at PEMRA Headquarters Islamabad. Executive DG Licensing Distribution Shamim Gul Durrani, DGs (Licensing Distribution) M. Ikram Barkat & Umer Waqas Qureshi, and DG (EM Secretariat) Rana Muhammad Ahmad Mustafa were also present.

Executive Member PEMRA, Barrister Sikander R. Choudry, awarded Landing Rights Permission (LRP) to M/s Mega Media Network (Pvt.) Limited for the foreign satellite TV channel "Series Zone TV" in General Entertainment category.
The licence was received by CEO Mr. Afaq Tashfeen & Mrs. Rabia Afaq at PEMRA Headquarters Islamabad. Executive DG (Licensing Broadcast Media) Wakeel Khan, DG (Licensing Broadcast Media) Tariq Mehmood, and DG (EM Secretariat) Rana Muhammad Ahmad Mustafa were also present.

PEMRA participated in the Dekho Film Festival, organised by the Department of Film & Broadcasting, University of the Punjab, at Alhamra Arts Council. With the theme ‘Narratives Beyond Borders’, the festival celebrated creative expression, independent filmmaking, and diverse storytelling, highlighting the importance of nurturing local talent and strengthening Pakistan’s content ecosystem.

Barrister Sikander R. Choudry Executive Member/Acting Chairman, PEMRA visited M/s Boltlike Solutions (Pvt.) Ltd. Television Audiance Measurment (TAM) regarding technical infrastructure and data centre.
During the visit Boltlike team gave a comprehensive presentation, end-to-end overview of its TAM platform.

Executive Member PEMRA, Barrister Sikander R. Choudry, awarded Cable TV licence to M/s Wideband Communication (Pvt.) Limited for District Bannu. The licence was received by CEO Muhammad Saeed at PEMRA Headquarters Islamabad. Executive DG Licensing Distribution & Finance Shamim Gul Durrani, DG (Licensing Distribution) M. Ikram Barkat, and DG (EM Secretariat) Rana Muhammad Ahmad Mustafa were also present.

PEMRA held a meeting with Maj. Gen. (R) Ali Farhan, HI (M), Managing Director of the National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) to discuss the nationwide rollout of secure distribution services for government offices and how PEMRA can support and collaborate on this initiative.
