A Dengue Awareness, Prevention & Training Session was conducted by Health Department in collaboration with Shifa International Hospital Islamabad and District Administration Islamabad at Shifa International Hospital Islamabad.
The technical session was conducted by Entomologists from District Health Office Islamabad, Mr. Malik Muhammad Qasim Sujra and Mr. Abdul Qadir focusing on dengue prevention, vector surveillance, identification of mosquito breeding sites, integrated vector control measures, and community awareness ahead of dengue season 2026.Participants from various departments actively engaged in the informative session.

Today, a Training Session on Dengue Prevention and Control was chaired by Director Emergency Dr. Nadia Noureen and Dyp Director Dr. Rabil Javed on behalf of the Federal Secretary Health NHSR&C and DG Health Islamabad.
Mr. Malik M. Qasim Sujra District Entomologist conducted a comprehensive hands-on training session for nominated focal persons from various ministries. Deputy Secretaries, Section Officers, and Administrative Officers from different ministries actively participated in the session.
The training focused on dengue surveillance, vector identification, larval source management, preventive measures, and effective coordination mechanisms for dengue control within government premises.
Participants highly appreciated the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination for organizing such an informative and productive session. They acknowledged that the training significantly enhanced their knowledge and provided practical guidance for strengthening dengue prevention and control activities in their respective ministries.

The Directorate of Health Services & District Health Office (DHO) Islamabad successfully signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Capital Diagnostic Centre G-8 for the establishment of a Routine Immunization (EPI) Vaccination Center at its premises.
This strategic collaboration aims to strengthen access to quality immunization services for the community by integrating public health initiatives with private sector facilities. The vaccination center will provide essential EPI services, ensuring timely vaccination of children and improved coverage of zero-dose and defaulter populations.
Senior officials from the Directorate of Health,]DHO office and representatives of Capital Diagnostic Centre attended the ceremony. The initiative reflects the commitment of the health department to expand immunization outreach, enhance service delivery, and move towards achieving universal immunization coverage in Islamabad.
The partnership is expected to play a vital role in protecting children against vaccine-preventable diseases and supporting ongoing efforts under the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI).

The inauguration ceremony of CDA Medical Center F-11 was successfully held under the project of Health Facilities Solar Electrification, generously facilitated by GAVI and FDI and UNICEF. This landmark initiative aims to solarize a total of 496 health facilities all over Pakistan, ensuring uninterrupted and eco-friendly energy solutions for better healthcare delivery.
Dr. Irshad Ali Jokhio, Director General Health CDA warmly welcomed the distinguished guests including Dr Musa Khan, DG FDI, Director GAVI, and Chief of Health UNICEF on this important occasion.
This transformative project reflects a strong commitment towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure, promoting clean energy, and ensuring reliable services for communities.
The event inaugurated by resoected Dr Musa Khan and concluded with a vote of thanks by the Dr Irshad Jokhio DG CDA/MCI, appreciating the support and collaboration of all development partners and stakeholders.

Japanese Rotary delegation visited today, 19th April, the YCP MNCH and Vaccination Center, UC Mera Badia, which is being jointly operated by YCP and the Directorate of Health Services, MCI/CDA.
Dr Irshad Jokhio, Director General Health, along with Madam Tayyaba, CEO YCP, warmly welcomed the delegation. EPI and Polio colleagues were also present on the occasion.
The delegation appreciated and acknowledged the efforts being carried out under this public-private partnership, particularly in strengthening immunization and maternal and child health services.

سوشل میڈیا پر جوس کے استعمال سے اموات سے متعلق گردش کرنے والی خبروں کے حوالے سے عوام کو آگاہ کیا جاتا ہے کہ ڈسٹرکٹ ہیلتھ آفس، ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف ہیلتھ سروسز اور ضلعی انتظامیہ نے ان واقعات کا مشترکہ طور پر تفصیلی جائزہ لیا ہے۔
ابتدائی تحقیقات میں **جوس کے استعمال سے اموات کا کوئی ثبوت نہیں ملا**۔ متعلقہ ہسپتالوں سے مریضوں کا ریکارڈ اور ہسٹری چیک کی گئی، جس میں درج ذیل حقائق سامنے آئے:
• ایک مریض پہلے سے طبیعت خراب ہونے (سینے میں درد اور قے) کی شکایت میں مبتلا تھا، جوس بعد میں استعمال کیا گیا۔
• دوسرے مریض میں جوس کے استعمال کی کوئی ہسٹری موجود نہیں تھی۔
• دیگر کیس میں بھی علامات (قے اور سینے میں درد) سامنے آئیں، تاہم کسی مضر جوس کے استعمال کا کوئی واضح ثبوت نہیں ملا۔
مزید تحقیقات کے لیے متاثرہ خاندانوں سے دکانوں کی نشاندہی کی درخواست کی گئی، مگر کوئی مخصوص جگہ سامنے نہیں آئی۔ احتیاطی طور پر اسلام آباد فوڈ اتھارٹی نے متعلقہ علاقوں میں مارکیٹوں کا معائنہ کیا، جہاں کسی غیر معیاری یا مضر جوس کے شواہد نہیں ملے۔
**عوام سے گزارش ہے کہ غیر مصدقہ خبروں اور افواہوں پر یقین نہ کریں اور ذمہ داری کا مظاہرہ کریں۔**

*Public Health Measures in Key Security Zones of Islamabad*
In view of ongoing high level official engagements in the federal capital, the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), CDA, has intensified vector control operations in designated security sensitive areas.
Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) and allied field activities are being carried out in police lines, institutional facilities, and surrounding residential zones to minimize health risks and maintain environmental safety.
These focused efforts complement broader administrative arrangements, ensuring that public health standards are upheld during this important period in Islamabad.

As per direction, a refresher training session was conducted for daily wages dengue staff in Sub-Division Saddar, Secretariat, Nilor by District Entomologist Islamabad.
The session commenced with a detailed overview of dengue transmission dynamics, highlighting the mosquito life cycle (egg, larva, pupa, adult) and the role of adult mosquitoes as vectors, supported by visual demonstrations.
Subsequently, participants were oriented on their core field responsibilities, including active surveillance, identification and elimination of breeding sites, effective community engagement, and accurate, timely reporting through the PITB Anti-Dengue Application. Guidance was also provided on community counseling, focusing on preventive measures, early symptom recognition, and source reduction.
The training reinforced the critical role of field staff as frontline responders in dengue prevention and control through proactive operations, public awareness, and integrated vector management.
