کمپٹیشن کمیشن آف پاکستان (سی سی پی) نے پاک عرب فرٹیلائزرز لمیٹڈ کی جانب سے پاکستان آکسیجن لمیٹڈ کے مائع کاربن ڈائی آکسائیڈ پلانٹ کے حصول کی منظوری دے دی ہے۔ یہ منظوری کمپٹیشن ایکٹ 2010 کے تحت فیز ون جائزے کے بعد دی گئی۔

Chairman CCP Visits LUMS

Mr. Farid Ahmad Tarar, Chairman CCP, visited the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), where he met Dr. Adeel Zaffar, Dean, Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB); Dr. Tariq Jadoon, Provost; and Dr. Sadaf Aziz, Dean, Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL).

The meeting discussed avenues for collaboration between CCP and LUMS, particularly the introduction and promotion of Competition Law and Competition Economics in the curricula of law, management sciences, economics, and related disciplines.

The Chairman emphasized the importance of academia-regulator engagement in developing a deeper understanding of competition policy among future lawyers, economists, business leaders, and policymakers. He noted that competition awareness plays a vital role in fostering fair markets, consumer welfare, innovation, and economic growth. Both sides expressed interest in exploring joint initiatives, including academic engagements, research collaboration, seminars, and student outreach programs aimed at promoting a culture of competition in Pakistan.

CCP Hosts Interactive Competition Law Awareness Session for ICMA Students

The Competition Commission of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (ICMA) Islamabad, organized an interactive awareness session on Competition Law at CCP Headquarters.

Senior officers of the Commission, including Director General Dr. Ikram ul Haq, Director Ms. Maliha Quddus, Secretary to the Commission Ms. Marryam Pervaiz, and Deputy Director Mr. Noman Ahmed, delivered presentations on key provisions of the Competition Act, covering abuse of dominant position, prohibited agreements, deceptive marketing practices, and mergers & acquisitions.

The session was attended by students, faculty members, and representatives of ICMA Islamabad, including Mr. Muhammad Rizwan (FCMA), Secretary Islamabad Branch Council ICMAP and Managing Partner Rizwan Arish & Co.; Mr. Arslan Mehmood, Member Islamabad Branch Council ICMAP; Mr. Amir Ejaz, Executive Director ICMAP; and Mr. Bilal Ahmad, Director Northern Region ICMAP.

Students actively participated in an engaging question-and-answer session with CCP officials and Chairman CCP Mr. Farid Ahmad Tarar.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman Mr. Farid Ahmad Tarar emphasized the importance of promoting awareness of Competition Law among future professionals and business leaders. He highlighted that CCP, as a sector-neutral regulator, works to curb anti-competitive practices across all sectors of the economy through the powers vested in the Commission under the Competition Act.

The Chairman appreciated the participation of students and ICMA representatives, and reaffirmed CCP’s commitment to continued engagement and dialogue with academia and other stakeholders to promote fair competition, consumer welfare, and responsible business conduct in Pakistan.

CCP continues to engage with stakeholders to promote a more informed, competition-aware, and consumer-conscious society.

کمپٹیشن کمیشن آف پاکستان (سی سی پی) نے یونائیٹڈ ایتھانول انڈسٹریز لمیٹڈ کی جانب سے پاکستان کارپوریٹ ری اسٹرکچرنگ کمپنی لمیٹڈ میں حصص کے حصول کی منظوری دے دی ہے۔ یہ منظوری کمپٹیشن ایکٹ 2010 کے تحت فیز ون جائزے کے بعد دی گئی۔

As part of its ongoing outreach initiative to promote awareness of Competition Law among academia, the Competition Commission of Pakistan conducted an engaging session at Bahria University Islamabad Law School. The CCP delegation, comprising Director General Dr. Ikram ul Haq, Secretary to the Commission Ms. Marryum Pervaiz, Director Ms. Maliha Quddus, and Deputy Director Mr. Noman Ahmed, delivered presentations on key aspects of Competition Law and the Commission’s enforcement framework. Dean Bahria Law School, Dr. Muhammad Fayaz, along with faculty members, represented the university at the session. Attended by a large number of students and faculty members, the interactive session generated keen interest and discussion on CCP’s mandate, major enforcement areas, and its role in promoting fair competition and consumer welfare in Pakistan.

کمپٹیشن کمیشن آف پاکستان (سی سی پی) نے لبرٹی ڈھارکی پاور لمیٹڈ کی جانب سے اینگرو پولیمرز اینڈ کیمیکلز لمیٹڈ میں حصص کے مجوزہ حصول کی منظوری دے دی ہے۔ یہ منظوری مٹسوبشی کارپوریشن سے حصص کی خریداری کے لیے کمپٹیشن ایکٹ 2010 کے سیکشن 11 کے تحت ابتدائی جائزے کے بعد دی گئی۔

The Competition Commission of Pakistan, in collaboration with NUST School of Law Islamabad, conducted an engaging awareness session on Competition Law at the university campus. CCP Member Mr. Salman Amin and Secretary to the Commission Ms. Marryum Pervaiz delivered presentations on key aspects of competition law. Head of Department, NUST School of Law, Mr. Syed Sikandar Shah, and Assistant Professor Ms. Amara Amir, represented NUST at the session. The session highlighted CCP’s mandate, major enforcement areas, and its performance in promoting fair competition.
