Pak-EEF has reserved scholarships for students domiciled in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, under the Prime Minister's initiative.

They cover health sciences, emerging technologies, tourism and hospitality management, arts and culture, InterTech, and climate and agriculture-based training at bachelor's, associate degree and diploma level.

Merit and need are both counted. Preference goes to female students and students with disabilities.

Over the next two weeks we'll break down exactly who qualifies and how the application works.

Meet our four PAK-EEF scholars at KIU, Hunza Campus, pursuing their dreams in Hospitality Management. With passion, determination, and the right opportunities, they are preparing to become the future leaders and hotel managers of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Among them is Saleem Baber, a martial arts champion whose life changed after a devastating 11,000-volt electric shock. Yet, his story is not defined by tragedy, but by courage, resilience, and the determination to keep moving forward. A true star who reminds us that challenges cannot define our potential.

And to our aspiring female hospitality professionals: we see you not just as students, but as the **future women leaders, hospitality experts, and hotel managers** of Pakistan. Your dreams are valid, your ambitions matter, and your future is full of possibilities.

At the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund (PAK-EEF), we believe that talent deserves opportunity, dreams deserve support, and no barrier should stand in the way of a brighter future.

A New Chapter for Hospitality & Tourism Education in Gilgit-Baltistan!
The Hospitality & Tourism Management Programme was launched at PC Legacy Hunza through a collaborative initiative by the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund (PAK-EEF), Karakoram International University (KIU), and Hashoo School of Hospitality Management (HSHM), with the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Amjad Hussain Azar, as the Chief Guest.

The ceremony was attended by Nek Nam Karim, Minister for Tourism; Zulfiqar Ali Murad, Minister for Local Government; Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq, Vice Chancellor, KIU,and Haseeb Gardezi**, Executive Director, Hashoo Group.

The programme offers an HEC-accredited academic pathway, a UK CTH Diploma (Levels 4–5), and hands-on training opportunities to prepare students for careers in the hospitality and tourism industry.

Through PAK-EEF, scholarship opportunities are also available in Nursing, Fisheries, Art & Culture, Cybersecurity, and Tourism & Hospitality, helping students pursue education and build brighter futures.

The Pakistan Education Endowment Fund (PAK-EEF) team, including the Chief Internal Auditor (CIA) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), visited Mehnaz Fatima Foundation and met with Ms. Mehnaz Fatima, Mr. David, and the Foundation’s Principal.

The meeting focused on exploring potential scholarship opportunities for students with autism and other special educational needs, promoting inclusive education, and discussing avenues for future collaboration to support deserving students in accessing educational opportunities.

PAK-EEF remains committed to exploring initiatives that advance equitable access to education and help create opportunities for every learner.

KIU Hunza Campus, 9 October 2026.

More than 600 students in a single session.

Pak-EEF, Hashoo School of Hospitality Management and Karakoram International University introduced the Hospitality and Tourism Management degree at KIU. It is HEC-accredited, with a UK CTH Diploma alongside it, and starts with a two-year Associate Degree that leads on to the four-year BS. It includes training inside Hashoo Group hotels, and a limited number of Pak-EEF scholarships support it.

KIU and HSHM launched the Hospitality and Tourism Management programme at PC Legacy Hunza, with Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Amjad Hussain Advocate as Chief Guest.

Joined by Minister for Tourism Nek Nam Karim, Minister for Local Government Zulfiqar Ali Murad, KIU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq and Hashoo Group Executive Director Haseeb Gardezi.
