On March 14 at 2:30 PM, students' councils will stand together in a peaceful protest at Islamabad Press Club, speaking up against corporate farming and the six canals on the Indus River.

We believe these projects will dry up Sindh’s land, push farmers to the edge, and steal its deep-rooted bond with the river. The protest aims to wake up the authorities and stop decisions that put profits over people. We will call for fair water sharing and farming that keeps Sindh’s future safe. Our message is clear—don’t take away Sindh’s lifeline.

Mehran Students' Forum Islamabad firmly denounces the brutal and unjustifiable attack on Sindhi students at IIUI by members of the extremist group Islami Jamiat Talba (IJT). Such acts of violence have no place in an academic environment and threaten the very values of peace, diversity, and respect that universities must sustain.

We stand unwaveringly in support of our Sindhi Students and demand an immediate and decisive action from the administration of IIUI, as well as from Islamabad’s police, to ensure the safety of all students on campus, hold the perpetrators accountable, and prevent such incidents in the future.

The Mehran Students' Forum held a study circle titled "Secularism and Extremism in Contemporary Sindh." The discussion centered on Sindh's history of secularism and how religious extremism, particularly under the influence of rigid interpretations of Islam, has chipped away at the once peaceful and tolerant society. The tragic murder of Dr. Shahnawaz Kumbhar, falsely accused of blasphemy, was highlighted as a grave example of this growing extremism. Participants discussed ways to curb religious intolerance and revitalize secular values in the region. The study circle was lauded for its open discussion and commitment to raising awareness.
