Pakistan Horticulture Development & Export Company has achieved a major milestone in the 2026 export season by facilitating the registration of seven additional Mango Processing/Hot Water Treatment (HWT) facilities with GACC– , raising the total number of registered facilities from 25 to 32. This expansion significantly strengthens ’s capacity to export mangoes to the market.

Pakistan Horticulture Development & Export Company organized an informative webinar on “Export-Oriented Mango Harvesting, Post-Harvest Management, Processing, Packaging & Transportation Techniques” to build awareness among growers, exporters, and stakeholders regarding modern processing technologies and international quality compliance.

🥭 Experts highlighted that although ranks among the world’s leading mango exporters, challenges including climate change, fruit fly infestation, anthracnose, stem-end rot, inconsistent grading, and poor post-harvest handling continue to affect export competitiveness and market access.

📍 Strengthening Export Development in Southern Balochistan

A high-level delegation comprising officials from Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and Pakistan Horticulture Development & Export Company (PHDEC), led by the Secretary TDAP, visited Lasbela Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) to officially establish a dedicated TDAP & PHDEC Help Desk for facilitating industries and exporters across Southern .

🏭 The initiative aims to provide strategic support to nearly 300 companies operating in the Lasbela Industrial Zone and Marble City, alongside agricultural and horticulture exporters of the region. The delegation also visited the Hub Salt Industry to explore the immense trade, industrial, and mineral potential of Balochistan.

🌍 Both sides agreed to jointly develop a comprehensive public-private collaboration framework, marking a significant step towards unlocking the region’s export potential, industrial growth, and economic development.

🚜 High-starch industrial potato varieties, modern processing technologies, and stronger public-private collaboration were identified as key drivers for positioning Pakistan as a future regional hub for value-added potato products.

🥭 Promoting Modern Mango Production Practices!

The Agri Team of (PHDEC) Regional Office Karachi visited three farm sites of Honorable Federal Minister in Bela, where the Mango Bagging Activity was successfully demonstrated to the farm management and field staff.

🌱 The visit also included technical observations and discussions on mango quality enhancement, pest protection, and best orchard management practices. A detailed technical report with recommendations and actionable suggestions will be shared in the coming days.
