The Alumni Network, in collaboration with the Central Library, NUST, hosted the Book Launch and Literary Discussion of اوراق منتشر by Dr. Atif Mansoor Malik, a NUST Legacy Alumnus (CAE 1990) and Associate Professor at The University of Western Australia. Held at the Central Library, the event brought together around 40 alumni for an engaging literary exchange. The session fostered a rich intellectual atmosphere, with active discussions on literature, storytelling, and the author’s creative journey. Dr. Atif’s reflections on his writing process highlighted the depth of alumni creativity beyond technical and professional domains, making the event a meaningful celebration of reflection and alumni connection.

NUST Central Library conducted an in-person training session titled “Generative AI: What You Need to Know” for library professionals, featuring Dr. Neelma Naz, Assistant Professor, SEECS, as the guest speaker. The session aimed to build foundational understanding of Generative AI, covering key concepts, practical use cases, productivity enhancement, basics of prompt engineering, and ethical considerations. The training enhanced participants’ awareness of the effective and responsible use of Generative AI in academic and library environments.

The Dental Care Awareness Session was held in collaboration with Lincoln Corner. The activity drew strong interest from the NUST community and offered highly informative one-on-one consultations with qualified dental professionals. The session was led by Dr. Aleena Naeem and Dr. Ahmed Usman, with a special guest appearance by Dr. Syeda Batool Zahra, visiting from New York. Participants had the opportunity to engage directly with the experts, received personalised guidance, and learned practical approaches to maintaining better oral health.

The NUST Central Library hosted a special Iqbal Day edition of its Library Talk Series, featuring esteemed guest speakers Lt. Gen. (R) Muhammad Asghar, former Rector NUST, and Mr. Salman Asif Siddiqui, Founder of ERDC.
The session was graced by the presence of Pro-Rector Academics, Dr. Osman Hasan, along with principals, directors, faculty, officers, staff and students from across the University.
Through thoughtful reflections and an engaging dialogue, the speakers illuminated the enduring relevance of Iqbal’s philosophy for contemporary academic and personal growth. The interactive nature of the session made it a truly enriching and memorable gathering, further strengthening the Library’s commitment to building intellectual exchange within the NUST community.
