🌱 Plantation Drive for a Greener Pakistan 🌱
A meaningful plantation drive was successfully conducted today at the SPDPA Office in collaboration with DEP&D, SPDPA (Sindh Persons with Disabilities Protection Authority) and IHRI, along with representatives from various partner organizations.
The event was graced by DG SPDPA, Ghulam Farooq Laghari, who joined hands with all stakeholders in promoting a greener, healthier, and more sustainable Pakistan.

A high-level meeting regarding the operationalization of Special Courts for Persons with Disabilities was conducted today, May 19, 2026, under the chairmanship of Director General SPDPA, Ghulam Farooq Laghari, at the SPDPA office in Karachi. Following the directives of the Honorable Chief Minister of Sindh, the session focused on strengthening inter-departmental coordination, ensuring disability-inclusive infrastructure, and streamlining legal facilitation to make the notified Special Courts fully functional across the province.

The 4th Board of Directors (BOD) meeting of the Sindh Persons with Disabilities Protection Authority (SPDPA) was conducted today, May 19, 2026, under the chairmanship of Secretary DEPD, Tuaha Ahmed Farooqui, at the SPDPA office in Karachi. The high-level session was attended by Secretary Human Rights Khalid Chachar, Additional Secretary Law, and DG SPDPA Ghulam Farooq Laghari, alongside board members Ms. Rubaica and Madam Uzma Shah. The board reviewed strategic policy updates, legal frameworks, and implementation measures aimed at empowering persons with disabilities across Sindh.

A productive meeting was held on 12-05-2026 between the Director, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Provincial Office Sindh Mr Abdul Hafeez Mahesar and the Director General, Sindh Persons with Disabilities Protection Authority Mr Ghulam Farooque Lagahari regarding Financial Assistance and the “Special Friends” initiative for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
The discussion focused on enhancing collaboration, expanding support mechanisms, and creating greater opportunities for empowerment and welfare of PWDs throughout the province.
